In Soleil, the government engineers a trap to capture Hector alive and puts him on display as a criminal. He is subjected to a brief show trial and executed live on television. The execution is a stark demonstration of the state’s power and its use of public spectacle to maintain control.

Bone, a former security guard who has just lost his job at a cryogenics facility for not showing proper respect to authority, meets Helen, a woman forced into prostitution by Soleil's system. They are immediately attracted to each other and begin a secret relationship, despite the government's harsh rules that forbid romantic and sexual activity among lower-class 'subgrade' citizens. The illicit romance sets the stage for rebellion against the regime.

Creon grows jealous of Bone and Helen's relationship and demands that Bone share Helen with him. Bone refuses, sparking a confrontation that strains their bonds and foreshadows further conflict. The power struggles within the trio threaten any sense of safety in Soleil.

Bone and Helen steal money from a supermarket, drawing the attention of Jason, a mysterious man. Jason offers them passage to Frodan, a nation at war with Soleil, in exchange for stealing records from a secure facility disguised as a hospital. Although suspicious, they accept the dangerous proposition.

They successfully deliver the stolen records to Jason. He tries to delay their reward and pushes them toward more crimes to test their loyalty. The uneasy partnership begins to feel like a trap in a system built on manipulation.

Frustrated and short on money, Bone and Helen rob a bank, quickly becoming the most wanted criminals in Soleil. The government launches a major manhunt in response, tightening the net around them. Their audacious crime marks a point of no return.

Creon blackmails Helen, threatening her safety. Bone saves Helen and warns Creon that he would kill him if he stays in Soleil. The conflict intensifies as their personal vendettas threaten to derail the escape plan.

With danger rising, Bone and Helen recruit their friends J.D. and Alexi to help them flee Soleil. The group begins plotting their escape route and testing loyalties within the circle. Trust becomes their most valuable asset as plans solidify.

On the run, they hide in the so-called plague zone, where Jason is revealed to be a government agent. He explains that major crime has been abolished and crime sprees are manufactured to validate the police state. The revelation reframes their rebellion as a state-sponsored ploy and raises the stakes of their mission.

Helen and Bone briefly take Jason hostage and retreat to a safer location. They discuss plans to rob the wealthy from the cryogenics facility and hijack a military helicopter that Alexi can pilot to Frodan. The plan signals a bold final push toward escape and freedom.

Creon negotiates with the police, betraying Bone and Helen to gain safety. Bone kills his former boss at the facility, and Creon tries to seize Helen as a hostage. When the police arrive, Creon is betrayed, and he murders J.D. in a final act of paranoia.

From the military base, Alexi is freed and they use Creon as a distraction to steal a helicopter. Creon begs to be taken along but is left behind to face Jason’s retribution. The escape carries them toward Frodan on a desperate flight for freedom.

Alexi pilots them to Frodan and they land to celebrate their freedom, only to find the area is a deserted wasteland. Jason awaits them in a nearby hangar with a police escort. The illusion of victory collapses as they realize they have walked into a trap.

Jason reveals that the war with Frodan ended twenty years ago and that the ‘plague zone’ is radioactive fallout from Frodan. His position within the government is threatened, and the stolen records serve as insurance against the state. He thanks them for fulfilling his plan and returns to Soleil alone.

Bone and Helen, now free, walk along the Frodan coast with their future uncertain. The world around them remains dangerous, and their relationship has survived a gauntlet of state control and betrayal. The ending leaves their next steps open to possibility and risk.
