The film opens with a gritty scene featuring a man named Boyce, portrayed by Dave Bautista, who addresses the audience while displaying his heavily scarred visage. He begins by asserting that this is not a fairy tale and that there are no happy endings. Set in a grotesque dystopia called the Lost Lands, humanity is governed by the tyrannical Overlord, while a powerful Church exerts its authority ruthlessly.

As the story unfolds, a witch named Gray Alys is seen facing execution at the hands of The Enforcer and several acolytes of the Church. Demonstrating her formidable abilities, Gray uses her powers to manipulate one of her captors, leading to a violent confrontation. The storyline then shifts to Boyce, who is depicted wandering through the Lost Lands, navigating dark tunnels and ambushes with remarkable prowess, utilizing a two-headed snake as a weapon against his attackers.

Seeking refuge, Gray Alys encounters a blind witch, played by Eveline Hall. Shortly afterward, The Queen visits Gray, along with Jerais, the head of an organization called the Overwatch. The Queen asks for Gray’s assistance to eliminate a dangerous shapeshifter, a werewolf known as Sardor, ahead of the upcoming full moon. However, Jerais privately urges Gray to sabotage this mission, believing it would ultimately serve the Queen better.

Unbeknownst to the Queen, there exists a secret liaison between her and Boyce, who was once her lover before he ventured off on his own journey. When Gray Alys finds Boyce at a local pub, she seeks his help to hunt down the shapeshifter, revealing that he already knows of the creature’s whereabouts. At the same time, The Enforcer collaborates with The Patriarch, who secretly plots to usurp both the Overlord and the Queen, sending their henchmen to capture Gray Alys and Boyce.

As Boyce and Gray embark on their perilous journey, they cross paths with Boyce’s old allies, Ross and Mara. After a brief romantic interlude with Mara, chaos ensues when The Enforcer’s troops discover the pair, torturing Ross to extract information before ultimately killing him and abducting Mara. The tension escalates as Boyce and Gray discover that Cyrus, another friend, has also fallen victim to the Church’s brutality.

In a gripping showdown, Gray and Boyce confront The Enforcer and her minions, only to find that they have deprived themselves of sight to evade Gray’s powers. The Enforcer delivers a brutal blow by murdering Mara, prompting a fierce gunfight in a high-stakes chase involving an air tram. Displaying incredible bravery, Boyce saves Gray from a deadly fall, though he sustains a gunshot wound in the process.

Continuing their dangerous trek, they encounter tree-like creatures that threaten their lives. Utilizing powerful illusion spells, Gray Alys manages to vanquish these foes after revealing the depth of her dark magic and suggesting that she is a force to be reckoned with. Meanwhile, The Queen’s disdain for the Overlord grows as she takes drastic measures, ultimately culminating in his demise.

The action intensifies when The Enforcer pursues Gray Alys aboard a derailed train, leading to a dramatic escape by Boyce and Gray while the Enforcer’s forces meet a fiery end. With the path clearer, the narrative pivots to the dramatic showdown at Skull River during the full moon. Here, revelations unfold—Boyce is revealed to be the shapeshifter they have sought all along. In a heart-wrenching confrontation, Gray Alys defeats Boyce in his wolf form and ultimately decides to bury him after his death.

In a twist of fate, Gray Alys delivers Boyce’s pelt to The Queen, who unearths the truth and turns on Jerais. As the citizens of the Lost Lands ignite a rebellion against their oppressors, Gray Alys finds herself intertwined with the turning tides of power. Strikingly, after Boyce’s burial, his grave trembles, signifying his resurrection. Boyce, now back from the dead, seeks out Gray Alys, who had predicted his return as well as the uprising. Together, they reinstate their alliance, vowing to traverse the Lost Lands, fending for their survival and hunting as they embark on an uncertain yet thrilling future.
