After nuclear war, a rancher's family fights marauders who prey on survivors. The marauders have already cannibalized a group of nuns. The family arms themselves to protect their homestead while the daughter becomes attracted to a lone blond wanderer. The story mixes romance, intrigue, action, and violence in a bleak post‑apocalyptic setting.
