Chithiram Pesuthadi

Thirunavukarasu, aka Thiru, is a fearless karateka who saves the son of a local don from a rival gang. In gratitude, the don Annachi hires him as his henchman. Thiru’s mother and younger sister disapprove of his gang ties, but they have to live with his decision.

One day, Charu, a worker at an NGO who fights injustice, crosses paths with him. A quarrel ensues between them, and they grow to dislike each other. No one in Thiru’s world has spoken up like Charu, and he admires her courage. Whenever they meet, Charu berates him for being a gangster, while Thiru also feels a pang of shame. In a bid to turn over a new leaf, Thiru and a few of the gangsters attempt to chart a quieter path by selling toys on a sidewalk.

Charu is impressed by Thiru’s changed persona and decides to marry him. Her father, Ravi Prakash, blesses the match, though her uncle does not approve. Yet Charu’s hopes shatter when she witnesses Thiru being hauled away naked in a police truck from a brothel after a raid. She blames Thiru for wrecking her life and for her father’s death. Later that day, her father commits suicide, leaving Charu to grapple with guilt and heartbreak.

Charu’s uncle arranges for her to be married to his own relative, but Annachi’s son sees Charu during the engagement and falls in love with her. Annachi threatens Charu’s uncle to surrender his niece to him. When Charu learns that Thiru is supposedly part of Annachi’s gang, she confronts him. Thiru’s friends reveal that he was only at the brothel that day to save his friend’s family, not to harm anyone, and that Charu’s father was there with prostitutes. To give time for Charu’s father to flee, Thiru creates a distraction by attacking the police; he is beaten, and his clothes are torn during the arrest.

Charu realizes her mistake and pleads with Thiru’s friends to take her to him. Meanwhile, Thiru devises a plan of his own to thwart Annachi’s schemes and save Charu. He arranges for Charu and her fiancé to be brought separately to the registrar’s office to get them married. But Annachi arrives, orders his men to attack Thiru, and the situation escalates. When Charu reaches the scene, she is stunned to see Thiru stabbed and fighting for his life. Only then does Annachi realize that Charu and Thiru are in love. He halts the assault and allows Thiru’s friends to rush him to the hospital. Thiru is saved, and Annachi agrees to let him go. He marries Charu, and they live happily ever after.
