Radha Krishnan, Dileep, is raised as a girl by his grandmother who longs for a granddaughter. She nicknames him Radha, and that name sticks as he grows up, moving through a village that sees him as effeminate. Yet Radha remains unfazed by the whispers, filling his days with the company of girls, singing, and teaching dance. His closest companion is Malu, Gopika, a friend who becomes the spark of his early feelings, while Kumaran, [Indrajith Sukumaran], a local moneylender and the son of the man Radha’s father killed in a past fight, harasses him for his feminine ways.

Divakaran, [Lal], Radha’s father and a fisherman, returns from jail harboring a rigid view of his son’s behavior, and Radha finds himself torn between two worlds: the expectations of his father and the life he quietly cherishes. As time passes, Radha’s affection for Malu deepens into love, setting the stage for a clash with Kumaran’s power and aggression. When Kumaran learns of Radha’s feelings for Malu, he enlists the help of Thorayil Aashan, the village astrologer—Rajan P Dev—and a brutal confrontation follows. Radha is beaten and dumped into the deep sea, accused of being a curse to the shore.

Radha’s rescue comes from Freddy, Biju Menon, a restaurant owner who happens to be on a distant shore. Freddy brings Radha into his home and introduces him to his sister Rosie, Bhavana, and a grandmother who has suffered the shock of Freddy’s other sibling, Jonfy, dying. Slowly, Radha becomes part of their family. The grandmother begins to identify him with Jonfy, which gives Radha a sense of belonging but also catalyzes a transformation as he tries to adopt more traditionally masculine traits in a new environment.

Life at Freddy’s place brings new challenges. Radha and Rosie face a threat when Cleetus, an old foe of Freddy, tries to molest Rosie. A violent fight ensues, and Cleetus ends up with a head injury, prompting Radha to flee back toward his native shore to escape the police. On returning home, he discovers a devastating truth: Kumaran has burned down his family home, and Malu is pregnant with Radha’s child. The revelation compounds the already fraught tension between Radha, Kumaran, and Malu.

Radha confronts Kumaran in a brutal showdown, and just as Kumaran is about to kill them, Malu arrives. Radha spares Kumaran, choosing to live with Malu and their unborn child. The couple’s future becomes uncertain as Kumaran continues to threaten them, but the villagers rally to protect Radha and Malu, delivering a warning that Kumaran should not return to the shore. Malu gives birth to Radha’s child earlier than expected, and when Radha views the baby, he sees a boy and tears the ribbon from the child’s hair, vowing to raise him as a son.

In the end, Radha returns to the sea, resuming the fisherman’s life that had once felt distant and inaccessible. The journey from a village outsider to a man who embraces his role as a father and a fisherman unfolds with quiet determination, balancing personal identity, family ties, and communal pressures in a world that never fully lets him go.
