The astrologer Madhava Panicker prophesies that Appu and Achu will be lifelong rivals, so he recommends separating the elder twin. To honor the warning, Appu is sent to live with relatives in Pollachi, while Achu stays behind. The separation seeds a bitter rivalry that shapes their destinies.

Appu refuses to accept the separation and acts out in anger by trying to drop a rock on Madhavan’s head. Madhavan is seriously injured and dies as a result. When Appu tries to escape blame, Madhavan’s brother-in-law frames him by passing himself off as Achu.

Appu is captured and arrested for Madhavan's death, even though he is innocent. The real impersonation by the brother-in-law helps the authorities place the crime on Appu. Achu, who is innocent, remains free, deepening the twins' star-crossed fate.

Thirty years pass and Appu grows into a lovable gangster with a rough charm. He falls for Thenmozhi, a relationship that gives him reason to rethink his violent life.

Achu marries Lakshmi and begins a settled family life, though he has no children yet. Meanwhile the rival factions work to destabilize them, increasing the pressure on both brothers.

Thenmozhi is killed by an unknown assailant, and Bharathan uses a false complaint to frame Achu. Achu is arrested for her murder, while Appu's life remains under threat as the enemies close in.

Achu is released from prison after serving his time. He returns to his life with Lakshmi, unaware of the deeper conspiracies still at play against his brother.

Madhavan’s sister reveals the truth: Madhavan was killed by his brother-in-law, who tried to cover up his wrongdoing. Thenmozhi was actually killed by Govindan, who is Appu’s friend and Madhavan’s son. She explains Govindan had conspired with their enemies to wreck the brothers’ lives.

The revelations force Appu to confront Govindan directly and see his true nature. He realizes Govindan was the mastermind behind many of the brothers' troubles.

Appu and Achu set aside their mistrust to face Govindan together. They expose his schemes and manage to defeat him, leading to his arrest.

With Govindan arrested, the immediate danger subsides and the brothers return home. They begin the slow process of rebuilding their lives and protecting their family.

In Pollachi, Appu returns and hands his son to Achu and Lakshmi to raise as their own. This act cements the bond between the brothers and marks a peaceful new chapter.
