In a sprawling crime saga that moves from the quiet town of Chalsa to the crowded streets of Kolkata, Rajkumar Banerjee, known as Raja, grows from a teen who survived the murder of his parents into a calculating figure who must navigate a brutal underworld. The narrative opens with Raja erasing the threat of two feared gangsters, Killu and Billu, whose crimes against his family set him on a path of vengeance and survival. The story expands as he slips away to Kolkata and joins Sadhu’s crime syndicate, aligning himself with Joy as they climb the ranks and pull off a major bank heist that shakes the city.

The fall of Sadhu follows a sharp betrayal: his right-hand man Aslaam betrays the gang to the police, leading to Sadhu’s arrest. In prison, Raja seizes an opportunity and eliminates the officer who had accompanied Aslaam, stealing away with Joy and his newfound sense of freedom. As the years pass, Raja’s thirst for retribution intensifies. He carries out a daylight killing of Aslaam in a busy bazaar at Kidderpore, fulfilling a long‑overdue score while continuing to ride the edge of danger with Joy by his side.

Meanwhile, Amarnath Ganguly—a party leader intent on harvesting sympathy through a staged assassination—draws Raja into his web via Shubhankar Banerjee. Raja demands a hefty price for the fake murder, insisting on ₹1.50 crores, and the plan moves toward a ceremony near Ballygunge railway station. The hit unfolds, but Ganguly is struck by an unseen shooter before the plan is completed. Police quickly close in, identifying a suspicious housing complex and boxing Raja in within a towering building. A car crash interrupts his getaway, and, as the pursuit intensifies, Raja believes Joy has perished.

With law enforcement closing in, Raja climbs to the rooftop as a passing train looms nearby. A daring escape unfolds when a rope from the train gives him a chance to disappear into the moving carriages. On the train, Raja encounters Shibu, a young man who left his village, Ganganagar, years earlier and now seeks to return home. Tragedy strikes when the train stops at Kharagpur and the police shoot Shibu, forcing Raja to flee to Ganganagar. There, Shibu’s family accepts him as their own son, and Pooja, who had been promised to Shibu, grows to love Raja.

The investigation intensifies as CBI officer Salim Ali Khan connects Raja to Ganguly’s murder and probes for Raja’s fingerprints, only to be outwitted by the unfolding deception. Clues increasingly point to Joy, and a wedding in Ganganagar—Shibu’s family circle—anchors the tension further as authorities grow convinced that Raja and Shibu share a hidden identity. Raja remains on the run, but his relatives’ indifference drives him to press on, while his grandfather gifts him a gun to defend himself.

A crucial breakthrough comes when Raja calls Shubhankar Banerjee, and a recorded conversation pulls back the curtain on the scheme. Banerjee finally reveals that Joy killed Ganguly for Rs 20 million and even staged his own “death” by sending a drunkard into the car during the ambush. Fueled by this confession, Raja makes his final approach on Joy at an old church. As the confrontation escalates, police storm the scene, and Raja ends the threat by killing Joy and the officers who stand in his way. He entrusts the recorded confession to Khan, who confronts Banerjee with the evidence. Banerjee, left with no solid proof, ultimately takes his own life under the pressure of the revelation and the consequences of his schemes.

With the truth out, Raja returns the ashes of Shibu to his family. Khan grants him leave to pursue a life away from crime, offering one condition: reject the crime world and begin a peaceful life with Pooja. He accepts, and the film closes on Raja’s quiet, hopeful trek toward a new beginning in Ganganagar, where he hopes to stay forever, away from the violence that shaped his fate.
