Sudhish Kumar moves to a new town to pursue his higher studies, even as his parents press him to marry and settle down. There, he encounters a beautiful, shy girl named Mini, and he falls for her at first sight, even though her identity is not clear to him. When an opportunity arises, his friends urge him to speak to her, while she hesitates, trying to avoid the moment. Mini is the center of attention in her family, living with her mother and three elder brothers: Dr. Kuttappayi, Eeyo and Varkey. They are protective of her, and she rarely acts against their wishes. Sudhi’s own family isn’t that different, except that he is the only son.

The thought of Mini weighs on Sudhi, driving him to find out how she feels. He asks for a clear answer, even if it’s a rejection. Mini struggles to decide, which only heightens the tension. When [Varkey] spots them together, he becomes furious and mistakes Sudhi’s intentions, beating him and warning him to stay away. As time passes, Mini begins to realize her own longing and finally confesses her feelings to Sudhi, and they begin a relationship. They both believe that their families will come to accept them, even if it takes time.

But trouble erupts when Varkey again sees them and assumes Sudhi is trying to assault Mini. He attacks, and Mini, finding her courage, stops him and openly proclaims her love for Sudhi, a declaration that shatters Varkey and unsettles the whole family. The news devastates Mini’s relatives, who now reject her as part of their family. Grief gives way to a vengeful impulse as they search for Sudhi, intent on hurting the couple who caused the pain. The lovers are forced to elope, while Mini’s brothers scour Sudhi’s home, verbally abusing his parents and casting doubt on the girl’s character. Sudhi’s parents, overwhelmed by fear and confusion, worry that Mini is not right for their son.

With nowhere to go, the couple finds refuge with Chippayi in his small fishing village, where his father, Chellappan, leads the local community. The brothers track them to the village, but the villagers resist their aggression, and a plan begins to take shape: the villagers intend to arrange a legal marriage for the couple the next morning. Realizing the weight of the hurt they’ve caused, Sudhi and Mini decide to step back from their relationship and return to their families. Chellappan, seeing their choice, commends their maturity, and soon the families, moved by the children’s pain, forgive them and welcome them back.

In the aftermath, both families recognize the depth of their regret and set out to find better matches for their children. Mini’s marriage is ultimately arranged, and Sudhi discovers a necklace that once belonged to Mini. His parents accompany him to return it, while Sudhi’s mother longs to meet Mini. The two families apologize for the turmoil they caused, and despite the earlier despair, the longing for union endures. The moment of reconciliation deepens the bond between the families, and they agree to support the couple’s marriage, offering heartfelt apologies for the pain endured by their children.
