President George H. W. Bush delivers a speech announcing the decommissioning of the USS Missouri. This moment marks the end of an era for the battleship and sets a tone of nostalgia and pride.

Chief Petty Officer Casey Ryback is busy preparing a festive meal to celebrate Captain Adams' birthday. His enthusiasm contrasts sharply with Commander Krill's underhanded plans to undermine his efforts.

Commander Krill arranges lavish food and entertainment to be airlifted from Hawaii. This blatant provocation ignites tensions between Krill and Ryback during the preparations.

Tensions boil over in the galley as Krill instigates a skirmish with Ryback. This results in Ryback assaulting Krill, who retaliates by locking Ryback in a refrigerator, illustrating the growing discord.

A CH-46 helicopter lands on the ship, bringing a band along with ex-CIA operative Bill Strannix and his crew of mercenaries. Strannix quickly reveals his malicious intent by eliminating Commander Green.

With Krill's assistance, Strannix and the mercenaries take control of the Missouri, leading to the deaths of several crew members, including Captain Adams. Their aim is to commandeer the ship's nuclear arsenal.

As gunfire erupts, Ryback realizes the ship is under siege and sends Private Nash to notify the bridge. However, Krill attempts to cover up the escalating situation, unaware of Ryback's presence.

Ryback manages to escape from the refrigerator and takes out mercenaries Cates and Ziggs. During the escape, he sets a small bomb in the microwave, showcasing his resourcefulness and combat skills.

Ryback uses his covert training to contact Admiral Bates at the Pentagon. This triggers a strategic response, leading to the deployment of a SEAL team to help reclaim the Missouri from Strannix's mercenaries.

Anticipating Ryback’s next move, Krill sets a trap to drown the remaining crew while Ryback attempts a rescue. Ryback, however, uses his wits to rally the hidden sailors and counter the ambush.

Strannix launches missiles toward Honolulu, putting immense pressure on the Pentagon to authorize a preemptive airstrike. This raises the stakes and compels Ryback to act decisively.

As the climax unfolds, Ryback confronts Strannix in a tense showdown. Old rivalries surface, revealing their shared covert past as they engage in a harrowing struggle for survival.

In a display of combat prowess, Ryback defeats Strannix, secures the launch codes, and prevents a nuclear disaster. The crew regains control of the Missouri, averting a catastrophic event.

With the crisis resolved, the Missouri sails toward San Francisco harbor. The film concludes with Captain Adams' funeral, acknowledging his service while Ryback pays tribute, saluting the fallen comrades.
