15-year-old Tom and his family relocate from their familiar life in London to a secluded house in the picturesque Devon countryside. Tom struggles with feelings of nostalgia and unease, as he adjusts to this new environment while his mother is nearing the end of her pregnancy.

One night, Tom's mother goes into labor, prompting his father to rush the entire family to the hospital. During the chaotic drive, their car crashes, but fortunately, everyone emerges with only minor injuries as a baby girl is born amid the turmoil.
