The Star

The film begins in Nazareth, where Mary is found praying. An angel descends from Heaven to deliver the incredible news that she is chosen to bear the son of God, a declaration that will change her life and the world.

As Mary receives her message, a pygmy mouse named Abby witnesses the event. She eagerly spreads the news among the other animals in Nazareth, igniting excitement and curiosity as they look towards a bright star in the night sky.

We are introduced to a young donkey who toils at a wheat mill alongside his father. Filled with dreams of adventure, he longs to escape his mundane life and join the Royal Caravan, much to the derision of his father who remains pessimistic.

Six months later, the young donkey is still trapped in the wheat mill. Recognizing his son's despair, the father loosens his collar and knocks out the Miller, granting the young donkey the chance to escape into freedom and adventure.

During a wedding feast, Mary struggles to confess to Joseph her pregnancy. When she finds the injured donkey hiding under a table, Joseph discovers the truth about her divine pregnancy, leading to feelings of confusion and eventual resolve to support her.

Three months later, the Three Wise Men embark on their journey to see the newborn king. They ride camels and engage in humorous arguments regarding the purpose of their quest, ultimately clashing with King Herod upon their arrival.

Upon meeting the Wise Men, King Herod feels threatened by the news of a new king. He welcomes them and conspires to eliminate the perceived threat, sending his hunter and dogs into the night.

As Mary and Joseph prepare for the baby’s arrival, danger looms closer. With the hunter and dogs on their trail, Bo, the donkey, and his friend Dave must rally to help Mary and Joseph evade capture.

During a frantic chase, Bo causes a chain reaction in a marketplace while trying to protect Mary. The ensuing chaos leads to the hunter falling down a well, but it also earns the ire of the villagers and a scolding from Joseph.

Disheartened, Bo sets out to find the Royal Caravan, desiring adventure over companionship. However, he realizes the importance of his bond with Mary and decides to return to help her instead.

Mary and Joseph finally reach Bethlehem where they are met with full inns and rejections. The Miller captures Bo, forcing him into a manger, while the star shines brightly, hinting at the impending birth.

Inside the manger, Bo meets various animals who discuss the mysterious star. Realizing this is the destined location for Mary’s child, he escapes to summon her and Joseph to the place where their lives will change forever.

With danger still lurking, all the animals band together to confront the hunter threatening Mary. In a climactic struggle, they manage to push the hunter off a cliff, uniting in their newfound courage.

In a miraculous moment, Mary gives birth to Jesus in the manger. All the animals and previously unkind characters witness the event in awe, marking the beginning of a monumental story that will resonate through time.

As the tale concludes, Bo rests beside Mary and gazes at the newborn Jesus. The animals reflect on the adventure that brought them together, symbolizing unity and the joy of the moment as a new era dawns.
