The star Svituška, admired alongside Sirius, is unexpectedly cast down to Earth by the jealous star Proxima. She falls into a village and is taken in by a teacher named Václav. With only days to return to the sky before perishing, Svituška hopes Sirius will rescue her, but Proxima's interference keeps him away. Václav, watching the star princess skate on the frozen lake each evening, secretly loves her. One night, Svituška joins him, and seeing Václav's pure love, her own light is rekindled. With his help, she must find a way to return to the heavens.
