The Cured

The Maze Virus begins to spread across Europe, causing widespread panic and devastation. Ireland emerges as one of the worst-affected regions, with the crisis reaching a frightening peak.

After unprecedented efforts, a cure for the Maze Virus is developed. It is successfully administered to 75% of those infected, resulting in a division between the immunized 'Cured' and the remaining 25% who resist.

In a rehabilitation center, two survivors, Senan and Conor, face the aftermath of the outbreak while under the close watch of Sergeant Cantor. Both men struggle with their past and the ongoing stigma associated with their condition.

Senan unexpectedly encounters his sister-in-law, Abbie, and her son, Cillian. This reunion stirs painful memories of Abbie's missing husband, Luke, igniting a sense of guilt in Senan regarding the atrocities he committed during the outbreak.

Conor, ostracized by his family due to his past actions during the outbreak, establishes the Cured Alliance. This underground movement seeks to advocate for the rights of the Cured, who face societal discrimination.

Tensions mount when the government proposes euthanizing 5,000 Resistant patients. This controversial decision incites fear and debate within the community, exacerbating the already volatile situation.

Senan begins working in a hospital that attends to the Resistant. During his time there, he uncovers unsettling truths about the societal divide, realizing the deeper animosity the Resistant hold towards the Cured.

Initially reluctant, Senan finds it increasingly difficult to ignore the discrimination faced by the Cured. He ultimately joins Conor's group, becoming embroiled in a plan to commit arson as a form of protest.

Sergeant Cantor confronts Abbie with disturbing evidence that the vaccine may only suppress the primal urges of the Cured. This revelation shakes the community and forces Abbie to question Senan's involvement.

In a tense encounter, Abbie confronts Senan about his past and the implications of his association with Conor. The confrontation culminates in her decision to cast him out of her home, deepening Senan's turmoil.

As efforts to dismantle the rogue Cured Alliance escalate, Conor resorts to violence, brutally killing Sergeant Cantor during an attempt to flee. This shocking act heightens the already fraught atmosphere and chaos.

In response to the mounting oppression, the Cured Alliance launches an assault on the Resistant, resulting in citywide chaos. The Irish Army is deployed to restore order amidst the violence and destruction.

Amidst the chaos, Senan hastily searches for Abbie, only to find Cillian infected by a rogue Resistant. He heroically manages to rescue the boy from imminent danger, showcasing his resilience in the face of peril.

While trying to comprehend his chaotic surroundings, Senan is ambushed by Conor. However, before Conor can deliver a fatal blow, a soldier intervenes, striking him down, but he manages to escape once again.

In the aftermath of the chaos, Senan reunites with Abbie only to face the despair of losing Cillian to his new infection. The government reports the situation has calmed, but the scars of tragedy remain deeply embedded in the community.
