Kirkbride Mental Health Hospital was established in 1871, serving as a facility for mental health treatment for over a century. After years of operation, its dark history and numerous incidents contributed to its closure in 1985.

After being closed for nearly fifteen years, the hospital begins its transformation into a town hall in 2000. Renovations are initiated by the Hazmat Elimination Company, led by Gordon Fleming and his associate Phil.
