At the heart of this chaos was a former psychiatric patient named Jeffrey Donovan, who developed an unhealthy obsession with the movie, taking it upon himself to guide a tour group to the film’s iconic filming locations. This diverse entourage included graduate students Stephen Barker Turner and Tristen, engaged in researching the intertwining of mythology and mass hysteria; Erica, the Wiccan child of an Episcopal minister; and Kim, whose love for the gothic and paranormal was evident.

Setting up camp within the decaying remnants of Rustin Parr’s house, Jeff strategically placed surveillance cameras in hopes of capturing possible paranormal evidence. However, his fixation spiraled into madness as he fixated on an immense tree at the center of the house’s foundation—an eerie feature that had seemingly materialized overnight. Compounding this bizarre scenario, the group witnessed another tour group inadvertently directed to Coffin Rock by Jeff and Stephen.

As night fell and the initial excitement waned into weariness, the group awoke to find Stephen and Tristen’s research materials torn to shreds and scattered throughout the woods, while Jeff’s cameras lay in disarray. The recovered footage eerily echoed that of recordings from 1995, which had initially ignited the infamous Blair Witch phenomenon. The atmosphere turned somber when Tristen experienced a miscarriage, prompting Stephen Barker Turner to rush her to Burkittsville Hospital. In a harrowing moment, Tristen glimpsed a young girl walking backward in a vision—an unsettling precursor to the horrors that awaited.

As Tristen recuperated at Jeff’s surprisingly industrial home, the group scrutinized Jeff’s tapes, revealing a jarring scene where Erica, out of her mind with despair, circled a tree naked. In disbelief, Erica insisted she couldn’t remember the incident and turned to her faith for solace. When Kim offered her support, Erica unveiled an alarming rash on her body, declaring that their group had been marked for impending doom—a prophecy that would all too soon become a haunting reality.

Meanwhile, Kim’s mundane quest for coffee and alcohol took an ominous twist when she borrowed Jeff’s van. An unfortunate encounter with a band of unruly youths forced her to swerve, resulting in a collision with a tree. As she exited the vehicle, the children vanished inexplicably, leaving Kim unnerved with a blood-stained nail file among the beer bottles she had just bought. The following day, Jeff surveyed the wreckage of his van with despair, while Kim minimized the incident’s severity.

As the group’s anxiety intensified concerning Erica’s mysterious absence, they began a frantic search of the house. Shockingly, attempts to contact Erica’s father revealed a chilling truth: he had no children. Tensions escalated as Tristen exhibited increasingly erratic behavior. The county sheriff, Cravens, made a disturbing call to Jeff, revealing that the previous tour group had been discovered slaughtered at Coffin Rock, delivering a dire warning.

In a shocking turn, Kim uncovered a set of surveillance files chronicling her life and that of her friends. When she confronted Jeff about them, he feigned ignorance. The group’s nightmare escalated as they stumbled across Erica’s corpse concealed in a closet, a grim token of the escalating horror enveloping them.

As Tristen’s demeanor grew wilder, devolving into chants spoken backward, Kim suggested they play Jeff’s tapes in reverse. The footage revealed their drunken descent into a demonic ritual led by Tristen, concluding in the brutal slaying of the other tour group. Confronted, Tristen oscillated between pleading and mockery. Fully convinced Tristen was possessed by the Blair Witch, Jeff filmed the encounter, desperate for a confession regarding Erica’s demise. This intense standoff escalated when Tristen bound herself with rope, challenging Stephen to push her off the balcony. In a moment of fury, he acted, resulting in her tragic fall to her death.

As the escalating darkness enveloped them, their narrative began to unravel, revealing the deceit at its center. Jeffrey Donovan, Stephen, and Kim found themselves in handcuffs, their cries of innocence disregarded as they sought to blame the atrocities on a seemingly possessed Tristen. Soon, the police uncovered damning evidence: grainy surveillance footage revealed Kim, once just a member of the group, brutally slaying a store cashier; simultaneously, Jeff was recorded, shamelessly hiding Erica’s body in his closet. The visual proof of their guilt was corroborated by video evidence from Tristen’s confrontation, showcasing her desperate pleas for mercy while they accused her of witchcraft, culminating in Stephen’s merciless act.

In the wake of these revelations, the funeral procession made its way into the woods, casting a somber shadow over yet another tragic tour group’s fate, their demise cloaked in mystery and horror.
