Thirty days after the contamination of The Hive, the Umbrella Corporation recklessly sends a research team to investigate the outbreak at the facility. Despite the risk, they believe they will be able to manage the situation efficiently, unaware of the horrors that await them inside.

Alice, one of the only survivors of the initial incident, emerges from her ordeal with superhuman abilities due to experiments conducted on her. Alongside her, Matt has been uniquely altered by entering the enigmatic Nemesis Program, setting the stage for their roles in the unfolding chaos.

As the research team attempts to access the sealed blast doors, they are met with a devastating surprise when a horde of infected creatures overwhelms them. The chaos that ensues marks the terrible beginning of the outbreak spreading beyond the facility's confines.

Carlos Olivera and his team of soldiers join forces with surviving members of S.T.A.R.S. to fight against the overwhelming zombie horde. Despite saving one of their own, the battle takes a disastrous turn, leading to a frantic retreat as reinforcements arrive too late.
