“First, civilization crumbled into chaos marked by anarchy, genocide, and starvation, until finally, a plague emerged.” Cyborg is a gripping tale set in a post-apocalyptic world, focusing on the relentless fight for survival of an urban ninja named Gibson. The story kicks off with a frantic man and woman, both clad in jumpsuits, desperately fleeing from a gang of ruthless pirates led by the menacing Fender, a muscular figure clad in chainmail and sunglasses. As the brave jumpsuited man attempts to fend off these marauders to allow his partner, Pearl, to escape, he tragically meets his demise at the hands of the ruthless pirate gang.

It quickly becomes clear that Pearl is no ordinary woman; she is a CYBORG who holds the key to curing the plague in New York, stored safely within her brain. Intent on seizing the cure for himself, Fender orders his crew to capture her, thrusting her into danger. As Pearl finds herself cornered in an alley by a trio of pirates, the nimble and skilled Gibson appears just in time to rescue her from certain doom. With dire urgency, she seeks his help to return to the last group of doctors located in Atlanta who had originally sent her on this perilous quest. However, their plans are halted by gunfire from a pirate sniper, forcing Gibson to take refuge in a decaying wooden structure, which ultimately collapses on him.

With Pearl now in Fender’s possession and bound for Atlanta, Gibson escapes from the rubble, driven by the desire to rescue her. He navigates through a devastated village and encounters a survivor from Fender’s assault, Nady. While waiting for her to regain consciousness, Gibson is haunted by troubling memories of a family he once saved from New York. As he eventually sets off with Nady to rescue Pearl, she offers her assistance, but his singular focus remains on confronting Fender.

The pair makes their way to a shantytown where Gibson reunites with his friend Maize, who provides critical information regarding Fender’s whereabouts. It’s revealed that Gibson had once chosen to leave behind his former life to settle with the family he rescued. However, destiny has other plans for him when they are ambushed by highwaymen. Displaying his combat prowess, Gibson fights off the attackers and rescues Nady, solidifying their bond further.

Eventually, they reach the coastline where they suspect Fender will make landfall before heading into Atlanta. As Gibson and Nady find themselves camping near the ocean, a moment of intimacy blossoms but is met with Gibson’s inability to fully engage, as painful memories of his past resurface. In an emotional flashback, he recalls a poignant encounter with the girl from the family he saved, alongside her little brother, just before Fender’s pirates disrupted their peaceful lives.

The following day leads them to Fender’s boat and an abandoned industrial area where a fierce confrontation ensues. During intense firefights, Gibson sustains injuries but remains resolute in his mission. Pearl, however, refuses rescue, believing in the capabilities of the forces in Atlanta to halt Fender. As Gibson embarks on a desperate chase, he faces off against one of Fender’s massive confidants, Ralf Moeller, in a desperate struggle for survival.

After a series of harrowing events, including Gibson being captured and tortured by Fender, he always remembers his family. “If you can hold it, your family will live,” echoes in his mind as he realizes the tragic past that fuels his rage against Fender. In a gripping moment of vengeance, he breaks free and seizes the chance to reclaim his freedom.

Fender and Pearl finally reach Atlanta under the cover of night. As storm clouds gather, Gibson and Nady plot their ambush against the pirates. With an arrow aimed at Fender, they initiate a full-scale rescue operation. While fighting through hordes of enemies, Nady bravely takes action to save Pearl, resulting in a fierce showdown between her and Fender. Just when victory seems at hand, a tragic turn of events unfolds as Nady is wounded while protecting a shocked Haley (who is revealed to be Fender’s possession).

The climactic battle culminates as Gibson and Fender engage in a brutal fight. Ultimately, Gibson confronts Fender, managing to deliver a fatal strike, leaving him hanging on a large hook. In the aftermath, Gibson, Haley, and Pearl grieve the loss of Nady, whose sacrifice weighed heavily on their hearts.

As the story concludes, Pearl invites Gibson and Haley to stay at the Atlanta facility, but the duo recognizes their true place is among the streets, helping others. They bid farewell as Pearl enters, and the heavy door shuts behind her, leaving them to continue their journey in a world fraught with peril and uncertainty.
