In 2013, Assistant Commissioner Raghavan Amrendra Singh Umbi struggles with drug addiction, leading him to seek out a Mumbai drug dealer. His desperate situation turns grim when he stumbles upon a murder scene involving the dealer and another individual, sparking a series of dark events.

The day after the murders, Raghavan investigates the scene, uncovering the shocking violence that transpired. He receives a hammer and an anonymous phone call that alerts him to the impending chaos that will upend his life.

In 2015, a man named Ramanna turns himself in to the police, confessing to the murders of nine individuals. Despite the confession, he faces brutal treatment but manages to escape with the help of local boys.

After escaping, Ramanna returns to his sister Lakshmi's home, where tensions explode into violence. In a shocking turn, he murders Lakshmi, her husband, and their child, further complicating the investigation.

Raghavan uncovers a photo of Ramanna with Lakshmi during the investigation, linking the two in a disturbing manner. This revelation sets the stage for Raghavan's troubled personal and professional life to intersect more deeply.

Raghavan's tumultuous and abusive relationship with Smrutika 'Simi' Naidu becomes apparent. The cycle of violence leads Simi to endure three abortions, highlighting the dark influence of Raghavan's nature.
