Madhava Menon is a retired Supreme Court Chief Justice who returns home with his wife to celebrate Vishu, hoping to spend the rest of his days in quiet, peaceful stride. The family gathers for a weekend of togetherness, but the mood darkens when his grandson, Arun Kumar, a medical student in Bangalore, is accused of killing a fellow student. The case hits close to home as the police, led by Antony Punnekkadan, move to seize Arun, driven by a personal grudge against Menon’s children. Arun vanishes into hiding, only to be located and hauled away by Antony at a clandestine location. To secure Arun’s release, Menon’s children hire the ace criminal lawyer Ramesh Nambiar, who manages to bail Arun out of custody and set the stage for a legal battle that will entangle many more lives.

Meanwhile, Vinod Bhaskar, a doctor and professor who intends to testify against Arun, is kidnapped by Karinkal Peethambaran, a thug hired by Menon’s children. The tension escalates as Arun is murdered, and Antony arrests Devan, a poor trader who happened to be at the scene, casting a shadow of doubt over the very people trying to uncover the truth. Ramesh Nambiar steps in to defend Devan, and his courtroom instincts begin to peel back layers of deception that threaten to overwhelm the case. Devaraja escapes a trap but is eventually cornered again and brought back into custody, a moment that tests the limits of justice and revenge alike.

In parallel, the truth about the Bangalore incident begins to surface through Vinod’s testimony, and the narrative widens to reveal the personal cost of the case. Ashwathy, Ramesh’s sister, had witnessed Arun killing a girl at the medical college, a fact that deeply unsettles the defense and intensifies the moral debate at the heart of the trial. Arun, together with his relatives, had seized Ashwathy and attempted to silence her by injecting morphine; she survives but falls into a coma, a development that leaves a lasting scar on everyone involved. The tragedy deepens as Karthik Varma(/actor/dileep)—Ashwathy’s boyfriend and a key witness—meets a violent end, underscoring the perilous consequences of the unfolding feud.

The climax blends courtroom drama with raw street justice as Devaraja makes bold moves to erase the traces of his own past deeds. Ganeshan is killed in the crossfire of the ceaseless power struggle, and Mahindran is brought to justice through a sequence of bold moves by Ramesh and Devaraja. Yet the pursuit of truth remains complicated and morally ambiguous, culminating in a controversial decision: Antony allows both sides to walk free, effectively abandoning the case because he understands that the cycle of vengeance and retaliation might simply start anew otherwise.
