In Nagapattinam, a polydactyl baby boy is born to Chinnaya Nassar. The astrologer Swamy K. Viswanath reads the newborn’s horoscope and foresees a striking arc: the child will grow into an intelligent and responsible person, yet his life will be cruelly short—only 27 years. Swamy advises naming the child Sarathy, but he keeps the harsher part to himself, leaving the fate of the boy shrouded in mystery.
Fast forward to present-day Chennai, where Sarathy Vijay stands out as a bright, optimistic student who excels in both academics and sports. He carries a quiet strength, caring deeply for his mother Thaiyalnayagi Kalairani and his sister after his father’s passing. Suji Meera Jasmine is his close friend and steadfast ally, someone who trusts in his judgment and wishes him well. The circle includes Jo Ameesha Patel, Suji’s friend who often teases her by getting a bit too close to Sarathy, hinting at Jo’s own feelings for him. Sarathy also leads a busy, almost dual life, running a restaurant with his friends and dabbling in real estate, earning brokerages along the way.
Across town, Reddiyar Kalabhavan Mani is a wealthy yet crafty real estate magnate who cheats people by selling improper plots. Sarathy quickly uncovers Reddiyar’s schemes and becomes a force for the vulnerable, aligning himself with the poor and pushing back against the unscrupulous businessman. This puts him on a collision course with Reddiyar and sows the seeds of deep-seated enmity between the two men.
Lawrence Raghava Lawrence, a loyal friend of Sarathy, harbors a secret—he falls in love with Sarathy’s sister and fears how Sarathy might react. Yet Sarathy, true to his generous nature, accepts Lawrence’s feelings and even consoles his mother about the arrangement. As the sister’s wedding approaches, the family mood brightens, and Sarathy’s life seems to be moving toward a happy, ordinary future. Meanwhile, Suji grows increasingly aware of her own affection for Sarathy, while Jo realizes that Suji loves him too, setting the stage for a delicate triangle of emotions.
When the wedding day arrives, Jo speaks openly about Suji’s love for Sarathy, and Suji reciprocates. But before the celebrations can begin in earnest, Reddiyar hatches a plan to end Sarathy’s life on the road, hoping to eliminate the threat he represents. A brutal confrontation ensues: Sarathy fights off Reddiyar’s henchmen but decides not to kill his rival, instead urging him to rethink his life and embrace a more positive path. The encounter leaves Reddiyar shaken and changed, recognizing the value of life.
Grief and danger do not end Sarathy’s story, however. On his way to join Suji, he is involved in a severe accident and slips into a perilous state in the hospital. Everyone prays for a miracle as doctors confess that Sarathy’s survival seems unlikely. In a surprising turn, Reddiyar—once his foe—steps forward, witnessing the family’s despair and choosing to offer a message of hope. He calls for calm and positive energy, guiding Sarathy back from the brink. Miraculously, Sarathy’s condition improves dramatically, and he is saved from the edge of death.
With renewed vigor, Sarathy returns to life and is granted a wish—he is allowed to live out what feels like a hundred years of happiness. The film closes on a hopeful note, underscoring a central belief: a positive attitude can overcome even death, and it is this mindset that empowers a person to achieve greatness, help others, and savor every moment of life.
This is a story about resilience, community, and the power of optimism to transform adversity into possibility, anchored by the steadfast courage of Sarathy and the interwoven lives of those who love him, including Suji and Jo, as they navigate loyalty, love, and the meaning of true strength.
