Gunasekaran kidnapped Eeswaran to expose the corruption of Law Minister Sadasivam, who was responsible for orchestrating violent clashes at Chennai Government Law College to force acceptance of an illegal quota system. After a student was killed and the college shut down for two months, Gunasekaran decided to pursue justice outside official channels by abducting the minister's paroled brother.

Eeswaran survived by drinking latrine water and scavenging for any scraps of food he could find in the abandoned half-built bathroom where Gunasekaran confined him. His will to live was fueled by his determination to avenge his imprisonment once he escaped.

Eeswaran tracked Malini using her bank account details, which he obtained during his captivity. When Gunasekaran accidentally revealed this information, Eeswaran used it to locate and abduct Malini as leverage to force his captor to reveal himself.

Eeswaran disguised Malini as a scarecrow on the rooftop of the building where he had been held captive. This was part of his plan to lure out his unknown captor and force a confrontation. The disguised position also kept her hidden from the families searching for her.

During the final pursuit, Eeswaran spotted Gunasekaran's locket while they were on a bike together. The locket served as the visual clue that confirmed Gunasekaran's identity as the person who had held him captive for six days.

The police ruled Eeswaran's death as an encounter to provide a clean resolution to the case. DCP Aravindan had vowed to kill Eeswaran to avenge his fallen squad members, and declaring it an encounter wrapped up the investigation without exposing the vigilante justice that had actually occurred.

Minister Sadasivam's death was staged as an encounter by his own party to shield the ruling party's image. The authorities ruled it a suicide, but this was a cover-up to protect the government from the scandal surrounding his illegal quota scheme and his involvement in the college violence.

Gunasekaran snapped Eeswaran's neck to overpower him during their brutal rooftop confrontation. With Eeswaran having killed two policemen and a college mate, and holding Malini hostage, Gunasekaran used lethal force to end the threat and save Malini from being harmed.

DCP Aravindan was the police officer who arrested Minister Sadasivam for parole violations and later pursued Eeswaran. He praised Gunasekaran's actions as crossing beyond ordinary law and politics to achieve justice. After the confrontation, Aravindan received a promotion, symbolizing how the line between justice and duty remains blurred.

Gunasekaran met Malini during his involvement with the captive situation and they fell in love. Their romance brought hope to two families previously divided by politics and fear, culminating in both families approving their alliance. This personal connection added emotional stakes to the fight against corruption.
