Amudhavel, Vishal Krishna, returns to Cuddalore after six years in the United States to marry his longtime girlfriend Meenu Kutty, Catherine Tresa. The wedding plans collide with a dangerous obligation: he is forced to invite Thamba, Madhusudhan Rao, a local gangster with a brutal past. Thamba’s enmity with Amudhavel began when Amudhavel’s elder brother Gnanavel, Mime Gopi, left Thamba’s fishing business to strike out on his own, a move that landed both brothers in trouble and earned Thamba’s lasting wrath. Thamba also attacked Amudhavel’s father, Rajarathinam, a blow that left him wheelchair-bound, a wound that widened the family rift and set Amudhavel on a path far from home, until the pull of family ties drew him back.

To protect his loved ones, Amudhavel had fled to the United States, hoping to outrun the danger Thamba represented. But as the wedding approaches, the past resurfaces with a violent sheen. While Amudhavel is in Chennai for wedding preparations with Meenu Kutty, the chilling news arrives: Thamba was killed the previous day. The timing is suspect, and soon Amudhavel finds himself the prime suspect in a murder that he did not commit. Thamba’s henchmen set fire to Amudhavel’s house, forcing Gnanavel and his family to go into hiding, and the authorities tighten the noose around Amudhavel’s supposed guilt.

Inspector Saravana Vadivel, a harsh and relentless officer, arrives in Cuddalore with a clear mandate: uncover Thamba’s killer and deliver him to justice. Sreejith Ravi plays this merciless detective, a man who seems more interested in appearances than in a fair hearing. With Vadivel’s heavy-handed approach, Amudhavel must navigate a web of suspicion and fear to prove his innocence. The investigation traps him in a high-stakes game, and a tense escape unfolds as he leaves Puducherry and reunites with Gnanavel and his family, continuing the search for truth beyond the walls of the police station.

On the run, Amudhavel and Gnanavel confront the corrupt forces arrayed against them and push toward Cuddalore to face Vadivel directly. Meenu Kutty becomes a pawn in a larger mental chess match when Vadivel confines her to the police station, hoping to force Amudhavel to confess or abandon the fight for his freedom. The deeper Amudhavel digs, the more he uncovers: Vadivel himself orchestrated Thamba’s murder as payback for a long-standing humiliation, and Thamba’s brother-in-laws were tangled in a plot to seize control of Thamba’s position after his death, hoping to profit from the power vacuum.

With false friends and violent enemies all around, Amudhavel asserts control through a dangerous plan. He overpowers Vadivel and the brother-in-laws, taking them hostage to peel back the layers of deceit and reveal the truth. The confrontation turns brutal as Vadivel is brutally assaulted, and the room fills with the tension of secrets long kept. The pivotal moment arrives when Thamba’s teenage son overhears the confession and acts in anger, turning the story’s axis on its head by killing both his uncle and Vadivel with a metal silencer.

In a concluding voiceover, Amudhavel explains the chain of events with a stark honesty: despite the conspiracies and the attempts to frame him, he had stabbed Thamba in a bid to defend his family, and he fled before reinforcements could close in. Thamba dies from those injuries, the result of a violent sequence that also sealed Vadivel’s fate. The narrative closes on the uneasy note that revenge, once sparked, can spark new cycles of revenge, leaving Amudhavel to reckon with the consequences of carrying out a vigilante justice in a world where loyalties are fragile and history keeps finding ways to repeat itself.
