He discovered that days before his accident, Akhilesh had written directly to the Chief Minister implicating Balram's brother Sangram Singh for the bridge collapse. Further investigation revealed Sangram was directly involved in the truck accident that killed Akhilesh, proving it was premeditated murder.

Yasmin had earlier found Akhilesh's resignation letter on his home computer but chose not to pursue it initially.
