Escape from the Bronx

Years after 1990, Trash, former leader of the Riders, lives as a cynical loner in the wasteland of the Bronx, trading stolen ammunition. He keeps to the fringes, scavenging what he can to survive. His notoriety unsettles both weak and powerful, marking him as a dangerous figure in the ruined city.

The GC Corporation, led by President Clark, intends to raze the Bronx to build a utopian 'city of the future.' They hire former prison warden Floyd Wangler and a private battalion of 'Disinfestors' to burn, shoot, and gas anyone who resists. The mission is euphemistic but brutal, setting the stage for a full-scale conflict.

A rebel army of all surviving Bronx gangs, led by Doblón, consolidates underground. They prepare guerrilla tactics and await opportunities to strike at the GC's forces.

Disinfestors burn Trash's parents alive, deepening his hatred for the occupiers. He channels his grief into ruthless guerrilla attacks against the clean-up squads, intensifying the war in the streets.

Trash begins leading hit-and-run raids on clean-up squads, disrupting the GC purge. His actions rally some civilians to the cause while increasing the danger for everyone caught in the crossfire.

Wangler and the GC escalate with brutal tactics, including rigging hostages with bombs to trap resistance. The threat of engineered explosions makes every engagement deadly and unpredictable.

Wangler compiles squads and orders a manhunt for Trash, fearing he could become a charismatic leader for the underground. The hunt intensifies and spreads across the remaining districts, increasing pressure on the rebels.

Trash, Doblón, Moon Gray, and the mercenary Crazy Strike, along with Strike's volatile son Junior, form a coalition to kidnap President Clark. Their aim is to use Clark as a bargaining chip to restore control of the Bronx to the gangs.

The group heads to the surface to seize Clark during a propaganda ceremony. Moon stages a dramatic interruption by denouncing Clark, but a security man shoots Moon and plants a gun on her to stage a 'self-defense' killing.

Amid the chaos, Trash abducts Clark while Crazy Strike uses explosives to cover the escape. They make their way to the underground through a collector, aided by Junior's detonations that ensure a messy, desperate exit.

The group reaches the underground territory controlled by Doblón, intending to use Clark as a bargaining chip. Hoffman, Clark's deputy, orders Wangler to unleash a lethal gas attack to crush the resistance and eliminate Clark.

Doblón receives a warning and moves his people to the surface to avoid the gas. The surface erupts into a fierce battle as the two armies collide, with no side yielding.

In the climactic aftermath, only Trash, Crazy Strike, and Junior survive the battle. Trash surveys the ruined landscape, declines an invite to return underground, and walks away by himself, choosing his own path.
