Rollin’ with the Nines (2006) – Full Plot Summary & Ending Explained

Read the complete plot breakdown of Rollin’ with the Nines (2006), including all key story events, major twists, and the ending explained in detail. Discover what really happened—and what it all means.

The film follows the UK hip-hop group Time Served as they juggle sudden fame with the vulnerabilities that come with money, power, and life on the edge. The rise feels glamorous at first—the lights, the crowds, and the sense that nothing can touch them—but tragedy strikes when a member, Too Fine, Simon Webbe is killed in a drive-by shooting after he owes money to a brutal drug dealer named Temper. The group’s world begins to fracture as the consequences ripple through their personal and creative lives.

Back at Too Fine’s flat, Too Fine’s sister, Hope, Naomi Taylor, discovers the brutal reality of the debt and exploitation surrounding their circle. The violence doesn’t stop there: the shock of the murder collides with a harsher truth when Hope witnesses the same dealer pressing a claim for payment and faces a brutal ultimatum. The siblings’ danger becomes personal, and Hope fights to survive a system that seems designed to swallow families whole.

Meanwhile, the group’s other members, Rage Roffem Uzong and Finny Vas Blackwood, realize that being signed as a triple act has left them in a precarious contractual position—their deal has suddenly evaporated, cutting them loose and leaving them vulnerable to both former collaborators and the drug trade that now looms as a potential profit or a deadly trap. The tension between staying true to their crew and chasing big money intensifies as each man weighs loyalty against survival.

Under pressure to repay the debt, Hope confronts Temper and, armed with a sawn-off shotgun, goes to his house. She shoots him and returns to Finny’s, knowing that Temper’s two sidekicks—Chose-One and Chronic—will come looking for payback. The decision to act decisively sets off a chain of retribution that drags the whole group deeper into violence. Finny, Rage, and their ally Pushy—Robbie Gee—decide to strike first, heading to their favorite nightclub to confront the enemies who threaten their future and draw a crossfire that endangers innocent bystanders, including a waitress.

The plot thickens when Hope is contacted by a major crime lord, David Brumby Billy Murray, who wants the money Temper owed him. Hope sees an opportunity to leverage Brumby’s influence to break free from the debt trap, and she pitches a dangerous alliance that could reshape the criminal landscape around them. Brumby’s entry adds a new layer of complexity, because aligning with him could bring wealth or ruin in equal measure.

As the tension builds, DS Andy White Terry Stone is assigned to the case and begins to pursue a trail of clues that connect Too Fine, Pushy, and the other players to a broader web of drug dealing and violence. White leads a raid on a Yardie drug dealer and discovers that Too Fine and Pushy are connected to the network in ways that pull Finny and Rage into a dangerous position. Finny, who sees the writing on the wall, names the truth, even if it means betraying those closest to him, in order to save himself from a harsher fate behind bars.

The investigation tightens as Det. Ed Haines [Dominic Alan-Smith] and a team of officers close in, while Det. Newmyer [George Calil] and Det. Anderson [Will Gilbey] add to the pressure, pushing the case toward a dramatic reckoning. Faced with a growing pile of evidence, White and his colleagues begin to shadow Pushy and his known affiliates, Rage and Finny, hoping to trap the trio before they can sink any deeper into the drug trade.

In a tense turn of events, Finny becomes a reluctant informant to soften his own risk, pointing investigators toward the others involved. The police round up Rage, Pushy, and Brumby, but Hope remains apart from the immediate sweep, hidden from the eyes of those who want to leverage her for gain. The absence of Finny as a looming witness complicates the cases, and White must weigh whether to press on with charges that could ruin more lives or cut his losses and let the others go free.

As the investigation collapses around them, Pushy makes a desperate call to Hope, seeking her help as the only potential witness who could alter the charges. Hope confronts Finny at his doorstep, and the confrontation ends in a brutal turn: she stabs Finny and dumps his body in a car, erasing a key witness from the board and removing a dangerous variable from the unfolding drama. With Finny dead and the key witness gone, White faces the impossible choice of striking a deal or letting the case burn out at the edge of the law.

Following the wave of arrests, Rage, Pushy, and Brumby walk free, believing they have eluded the long arm of the law. Their sense of safety is short-lived, however, as Brumby’s men ambush both Rage and Pushy in a car park, orchestrated with the tacit approval of White, who declares he will “turn a blind eye” to Brumby’s actions. The film closes on a bleak note, underlining how power, loyalty, and fear can outlast even a high-profile police case, and how the cycle of violence can continue long after the initial trauma has passed.
