“1990. The Bronx is officially declared ‘No Man’s Land’. The authorities give up all attempts to restore law and order. From then on, the area is ruled by the Riders.”

Ann, Stefania Girolami Goodwin, is the 17-year-old heiress to the arms manufacturer Manhattan Corporation. Haunted by guilt over inheriting a business built on morally gray ground, she flees into the lawless wasteland of the Bronx as she turns 18. In this harsh landscape, a roller-skating gang called the Zombies menaces her, and she is saved by the Riders, led by Trash Mark Gregory. The Riders take her under their protection, and a swift, undeniable connection forms between Ann and Trash.

A second powerful gang, the Tigers, arrives on the scene when they kill a Rider named Chris. The Tigers’ ruthless leader, the Ogre Fred Williamson, informs Trash that Chris was carrying a covert listening device—an ominous gizmo—that operates on the same radio frequency as the Manhattan police. The Manhattan Corporation uses this device to pinpoint Ann’s location, escalating the danger.

In response, the Corporation hires Hammer Vic Morrow, a mercenary with a cold streak, to recover Ann. Hammer penetrates the Bronx, killing two Riders, and plants a golden ring in the Riders’ headquarters before escaping. The Riders pursue, but Hammer eludes capture.

Ann discovers the golden ring and passes it to Trash, who instantly recognizes it as belonging to the Tigers. Convinced that the Tigers are behind Hammer’s assault, the Riders declare war, though Trash remains wary about the broader fallout. The situation grows more perilous when the Zombies ambush and kidnap Ann, forcing Trash to reconsider his strategy and alliances.

Trash seeks an alliance with the Ogre to rescue Ann, but the idea is met with resistance from many in the Riders. As Trash and a couple of loyal Riders push forward through the Bronx, they encounter a theatre-infused gang and a subterranean faction known as the Scavengers, who brutally kill one Rider along the way.

Meanwhile, a traitorous Rider named Ice betrays the group, informing Hammer of Ann’s kidnapping and Trash’s rescue plan. Ice then goes to the Zombies’ headquarters and warns their leader, Golem George Eastman.

Trash finally reaches the Tigers’ HQ, where Hammer tries to frame him for Chris’s murder. When Trash is captured, he manages to persuade the Ogre that Hammer is manipulating everyone and aims to turn all the Bronx gangs against each other. The Ogre agrees, and the trio—Trash, the Ogre, and Witch Betty Dessy—set out to rescue Ann.

The rescue unfolds at the Zombies’ headquarters, where the Ogre and Golem duel while Trash frees Ann from her chains. Ice’s attempted escape is thwarted by Hot Dog Christopher Connelly, who dies in the confrontation after a fatal clash with Ice. The event underscores the harsh prices paid for loyalty and survival in this fractured city.

Ann marks her 18th birthday at the Tigers’ HQ, but the moment of celebration is brutalized by a private army of the Manhattan Corporation, led by Hammer. They massacre everyone present, and Ann is shot while protecting Trash. Enraged, Trash kills Hammer and drags his corpse behind his motorcycle as he rides through the Bronx, a stark endnote to a tale of loyalty, betrayal, and the brutal struggle for autonomy in a city that has fallen to warring gangs.
