Vittorio Basile, a prosperous scientist and shipowner, is at the helm of a cutting-edge vessel known as the Megaride. This extraordinary ship is not only a marvel of technology but also a collector of memories, as it records all occurrences inside and presents them as holograms. With grand ambitions, Basile envisions transforming the harbor of Naples into a thriving technological hub, with the Megaride at its center, serving as a digital archive of everyone who boards.

Basile’s life takes a pivotal turn as he prepares to wed Angelica (played by Maria Pia Calzone), a single mother of five daughters and a young son, Luigi. However, on the day of their wedding, tragedy strikes when Salvatore Lo Giusto, infamously dubbed O’ Re (The King) and secretly involved with Angelica, cold-bloodedly eliminates Basile. The emotional fallout leaves Basile’s young daughter, Mia, rendered mute from shock. She falls under the guardianship of her stepmother Angelica, who harbors ulterior motives, believing that Mia’s future inheritance from the Megaride will ultimately fall into Lo Giusto’s hands once she turns eighteen.

As Mia grows up amidst Angelica’s harsh treatment and her cruel stepsisters, she is berated as “Gatta Cenerentola” (Cinderella the Cat) due to her tendency to sneak through the ship’s ducts like a feline. Over the next fifteen years, the Megaride suffers a corruption of purpose, devolving into a seedy brothel under Angelica’s management. Meanwhile, Lo Giusto and Angelica scheme to convert Naples into a capital of crime and drug trafficking.

Primo Gemito, once Basile’s bodyguard, finds himself on a quest to gather evidence against Lo Giusto. His investigation, however, leads to perilous confrontations with Angelica’s ruthless daughters, who have embraced the life of prostitution within their mother’s establishment. Just when he faces dire consequences, Mia comes to his aid, creating a reunion that sparks long-dormant memories.

Thanks to Mia’s support, Primo uncovers crucial evidence, including harrowing footage that reveals how Lo Giusto has been disposing of his enemies’ bodies in the ship’s hold. Though Primo hopes to rescue Mia from the clutches of the Megaride, she remains steadfast, refusing to abandon her father’s legacy.

As Mia approaches her eighteenth birthday, Lo Giusto returns to Naples with a sinister plan. He intends to marry Mia, despite his confession that he harbors no love for Angelica, whom he considers too old. During this twisted courtship, Lo Giusto lavishes Mia with luxurious dresses, attempting to win her favor. Initially charmed, Mia’s facade shatters upon witnessing a hologram of her father’s murder. Overwhelmed with grief, she escapes through the ducts, pursued by Lo Giusto’s men.

In a race against time, Primo leads a police operation to apprehend Lo Giusto. Yet, he faces a significant threat as Lo Giusto has preemptively cleaned the ship and issued death threats. Unwavering, Primo is driven by a desire to restore Naples and protect Mia from her impending doom. Meanwhile, Angelica, realizing her ambitions of marrying Lo Giusto are at risk, orders her daughters to eliminate Mia before the wedding.

A violent showdown occurs when Lo Giusto’s henchmen confront Angelica’s daughters, leading to an all-out gunfight that claims the lives of Angelica’s children and culminates in a shocking revelation for the villainess. Enlightened by her misdeeds, she understands that Mia is not to blame for her tragic fate, but rather her betrayal of the only man who truly loved her, Basile. In a moment of clarity, she prepares to destroy the ship, urging Mia to set free a blackbird that was a gift from Basile, signifying her final act of forgiveness.

As the countdown to destruction ticks away, Primo manages to sound the alarm, enabling a mass evacuation of the Megaride. In the chaos, Lo Giusto attempts to claim Mia, but the girl fiercely confronts him, only to be saved by Primo’s intervention. They narrowly escape just before the ship is engulfed in flames, leaving Lo Giusto to his gruesome fate.
