Cinderella III: A Twist in Time

Cinderella Jennifer Hale hosts a lighthearted picnic to celebrate the Prince and Cinderella’s first wedding anniversary. Joined by her Fairy Godmother Russi Taylor, and their loyal friends Jaq Rob Paulsen and Gus Corey Burton, the gathering feels festive even as Cinderella’s stepmother, Lady Tremaine Susanne Blakeslee, watches with a calculating eye. Anastasia Tress MacNeille lingers nearby, distracted and curious, and she unexpectedly stumbles upon the celebration, uncovering the truth that the Fairy Godmother’s magic helped Cinderella meet the Prince at the ball. The moment unsettles the house—Anastasia’s discovery plants the seed for a dangerous turn as Lady Tremaine quietly plots to use that magic for her own gain.

A cruel opportunity arises when Lady Tremaine seizes the Fairy Godmother’s wand and travels back in time to the day the Grand Duke tries the glass slipper on Cinderella. With Cinderella locked away in her room, Tremaine enlarges the slipper to fit Anastasia’s foot, and the Grand Duke concludes that Anastasia is the one he has been seeking to wed. The night’s ruse seems complete until Cinderella escapes her confinement, and Tremaine shatters her remaining glass slipper, erasing Cinderella’s one tangible proof of dancing with the Prince. Undeterred, Jaq and Gus reassure Cinderella that true recognition remains possible, and the trio hurriedly follows the stepfamily toward the palace.

At the palace, the Prince meets Anastasia and instantly senses something is off, but Tremaine uses the wand to enchant him into believing Anastasia is the girl he danced with at the ball. Cinderella sneaks into the palace as a maid and learns of the Prince’s plan to marry Anastasia. Jaq and Gus, having witnessed Tremaine’s use of the wand, come forward to reveal the truth to Cinderella, and the three of them devise a plan to recover the wand. Meanwhile, the King grows fond of Anastasia, seeing in her a reflection of his late Queen, and gifts her the Queen’s cherished seashell—an item that stirs Anastasia’s feelings about her family’s deceit.

Cinderella manages to steal the wand from Tremaine’s room but is captured before she can undo the enchantment. Back at the palace, the Prince and Cinderella confront the King with the treachery of Tremaine’s scheming, hoping to secure justice. As Cinderella prepares for the wedding, Tremaine returns with Anastasia, whom she has magically transformed into Cinderella’s double. Using the wand, Tremaine traps Cinderella and the mice in an enchanted pumpkin carriage driven by their cat, Lucifer. Cinderella, Jaq, and Gus manage a daring escape before the carriage plummets toward a cliff.

Cinderella arrives just as Anastasia, moved by a growing sense of authenticity, decides to stop the wedding and seek her own true love. Enraged, Tremaine transforms several guards into animals, but the Prince shields Cinderella and Anastasia with his sword. The magic backfires on Tremaine and Drizella, turning them into toads, and the spell recedes as Anastasia regains her humanity. With the seashell back in the King’s possession, he notes that everyone deserves a chance at love, and Cinderella and the Prince reaffirm their bond. The Fairy Godmother is restored to her former powers, and she chooses to leave the timeline unchanged, recognizing that Cinderella’s happiness has solidified.

In the closing credits, Anastasia moves into the palace and rekindles a romance with the Baker from the previous film, offering a sense of ongoing renewal. A mid-credits scene hints at a humorous reversal, showing the Tremaine sisters briefly restored to their human forms—though still dressed in Cinderella’s old rags, much to their dismay.
