In the 1950s, Phagun and Mitwa are raised by Chand. When Chand uses his gun to kill a criminal's brother, he shoots himself to save them. They escape by setting their house on fire and stepping into a life of danger that will shape everything to come.

Chaman recruits Phagun, Mitwa, Rizwan, and Bahadur to form the Chaukdi Gang as smugglers moving goods between India and Nepal. The group forges a tight circle and a bond born of shared risk.

A powerful gangster orders the gang to rob a bank in Patna, making it look like a naxalite raid. After the heist, a shootout with police leaves Chaman dead. The gang retaliates by killing the gangster and his henchmen, solidifying their ruthless code.

Fakira later joins the gang, reinforcing their loyalty. The group also helps villagers by beating a corrupt landlord, providing food, and buying land to secure their illicit operations and future.

Sukanya, a college student involved in a political movement, meets Phagun after he fights corrupt cops to save her and an injured teammate. They fall for each other as danger closes in around them.

The gang travels to Sukanya's village, but Fakira leaves earlier, setting the stage for shifting loyalties and growing danger within the group. The departure foreshadows fractures that will test the circle's unity.

A tense night leads to a brutal shootout with the cops, followed by torture and arrest. Rizwan and Bahadur receive seven-year sentences, Mitwa four, and Phagun ten; Sukanya later reveals she was arrested too but was released after an assault.

After Phagun's release, they marry, and the gang is reunited with Rizwan and Bahadur. Phagun also starts a land business, trying to balance family life with the shadow of their past.

In 1997, JCP Jasjit Singh informs Phagun, Rizwan, and Bahadur about Mitwa's capture. Sukanya doesn’t want Phagun involved, but he remains determined to help Mitwa as the situation tightens.

Phagun orchestrates a rescue for Mitwa with Tanuja's abusive husband Madan and two other men, but the operation turns deadly as the men are killed in the process.

Shakeel arrives and kills Tanuja and Bahadur, devastating the group. Jasjit informs the others and they set a trap to kill Shakeel with help from Rizwan's lover.

At a wedding, Sukanya learns that Tinku spoke of the killers talking to Durrani, hinting at larger connections. Rizwan's lover reveals further complicating ties to the Romania-based Durrani.

An assassin shoots Rizwan and his wife Sonya in the restroom, intensifying the conflict. Phagun flies to Romania to confront Durrani, only to discover that Durrani is Fakira in disguise.

Phagun returns to India, privately confers with Jasjit, and learns that Mitwa betrayed the gang by naming them to the police and serving the shortest sentence. He confronts Mitwa with a passport and a gun.

Jasjit arrives to arrest Mitwa, who ultimately shoots himself rather than face justice. Back home, Phagun sees his son Arjun playing piano with Tinku, a quiet moment after the storm.
