A night of dangerous bravado spirals into a chilling sequence of coercion, violence, and consequences. Frank, an active member of the fictional fraternity Sigma Zeta Chi, leads a hazing ruse that pressures pledges into believing they will rob convenience stores. Two pledges, Adam and Kevin, accompany him, and the plan appears to be a test of nerve. Before they enter a store, another active brother hands them money, revealing that the whole scenario is a drill meant to push them to their limits. But a miscommunication about which stores to target throws the plan off balance. Kevin, not stopped in time, actually attempts to rob the store and is shot in the shoulder. The gravity of the moment hits, and Frank realizes the mix-up too late to stop Kevin, though Adam offers help to restrain the quickly escalating situation.
What starts as a staged event quickly mutates into a crisis. Frank and Adam manage to subdue the store clerk, Mike, who is also a high school friend of Adam. They return to the fraternity house, clear a party space to tend to Kevin’s worsening wound, and then set their sights on salvaging the night by recovering evidence and checking on Mike. They go back to the store, only to find the security tape unavailable and the camera nonfunctional. Mike, meanwhile, hesitates to lie to the police to cover up what happened, a hesitation that unsettles the others.
Tension escalates as the situation tightens around Mike. Fearing the truth, Adam and Graham kidnap Mike and bring him back to the house. Frank stubbornly refuses to take Kevin to the hospital, worried about police involvement and the potential exposure of their actions. Instead, he enlists Bean’s medical professor to attend to Kevin’s injuries. Adam, feeling the pressure and seeking leverage, secretly records a confession from Mike in an attempt to coerce cooperation. Mike, however, stops talking when he discovers the recording.
Chaos compounds when family and time collide. Kevin’s sister Emily arrives, livid about an unrelated prank and threatens to call the police. As she departs, she is involved in a car accident with Bean’s professor, who suffers a concussion and becomes unable to assist Kevin. With Kevin bleeding out and time slipping away, Frank orders Mike to be tortured to force his cooperation. Officer Jennings, a former fraternity member, discovers Kevin but chooses to stay quiet at first, weighing whether to intervene.
The plan to keep Kevin alive frays as moral lines blur. Adam grows determined to get Kevin to a hospital and insists that Frank can still leverage Mike after learning money is missing from the store. He persuades Mike to admit he stole money, but Mike agrees to cooperate only if the stolen money is returned and his name cleared. A tense standoff with a nervous clerk ends with Adam and Frank succeeding in returning the money and then driving Kevin to the hospital, claiming it was a hunting accident.
The night’s so-called victory reveals deeper corruption and fatal consequences. Frank proclaims the night a victory, yet Adam sees through the illusion and chooses to leave the fraternity, angry at the arrogance and indifference that fueled their actions. A violent confrontation follows when the other members catch Adam after he punches Frank, and they beat him as Frank clings to the idea that brotherhood and loyalty have kept them out of trouble. Later, another fraternity member, Jackson, returns and recalls that a pledge was locked in a trunk during the party. Opening the trunk confirms the worst: the pledge died from alcohol poisoning, a chilling reminder of the hazards of their culture.
The truth finally breaks and the system collapses. Disturbed, Adam phones the police and exposes everything, setting in motion the arrest of Frank and the others. The night, already brutal, ends with accountability creeping into the shadows of a brotherhood that mistook bravado for virtue and left a trail of injury and fear in its wake.
