In 1944, during the German occupation of Poland, a 13-year-old boy is forcibly taken from his parents and sent to a concentration camp. His desperate attempts to sneak back in after the gates close end disastrously when he is restrained and knocked unconscious by a guard.

Fast forward to the present day, we meet Marie, engrossed in studies with her boyfriend in Meridian, Mississippi. A tender hug turns into a near-tragic incident, leading Marie to panic when her mother enters, prompting her to flee her peaceful life.

In Congress, Senator Robert Kelly advocates for the controversial 'Mutant Registration Act,' forcing mutants to disclose their identities. This sparks significant tension between the mutant and human communities, with Magneto plotting to address this threat to mutants.

While seeking refuge, Marie, who later becomes known as Rogue, encounters Wolverine in a Canadian bar. Their meeting quickly turns dangerous as a sudden attack by Sabretooth interrupts, requiring the intervention of Cyclops and Storm for their rescue.

Wolverine, Rogue, Cyclops, and Storm arrive at the X-Mansion, home to Professor Charles Xavier and the X-Men. The mansion serves as a haven for mutants, focusing on education and the prevention of Magneto's violent plans against humanity.

Tensions rise when Senator Kelly is abducted by Mystique and Toad. He undergoes a harrowing transformation that allows him to escape, but it brazenly showcases the terrifying power of mutants and their influence over human lives.

During an incident with Wolverine, Rogue unknowingly activates her powers, sparking confusion and leading her to believe that Professor Xavier harbors anger towards her. Misled by Mystique, who masquerades as Bobby, she contemplates leaving the team.

Using Cerebro, Professor Xavier locates Rogue at a train station, but Mystique sabotages the system to hinder their reunion. A chaotic confrontation ensues, and Wolverine convinces Rogue to stay but they face Magneto's looming threat.

The X-Men uncover that Magneto's power has been compromised due to a machine tested on Kelly. Their urgency heightens as they race against time to prevent Rogue from becoming an instrumental part of Magneto's malicious plan.

The X-Men engage in an epic battle on Liberty Island, where Magneto aims to utilize Rogue's abilities during a world leaders' summit. This climactic confrontation tests their skills and unity against Magneto's formidable forces.

In a critical moment during the battle, Wolverine sacrifices himself to save Rogue, transferring his healing powers to her. This act of bravery emphasizes the themes of sacrifice and the bonds of friendship among the X-Men.

After the battle, the X-Men discover Mystique's cunning ability to recuperate from injuries when she impersonates Senator Kelly in a news report. This revelation leaves them wary of further betrayal and the complexity of mutant identities.

In a reflective moment, Xavier visits Magneto, who remains imprisoned but mentally daunting. They engage in a symbolic game of chess, discussing their contrasting ideologies regarding humanity and the ongoing battle for mutant rights.

As they play chess, Magneto ominously predicts his unyielding conflict against humanity, while Xavier reassures him of the X-Men's unwavering commitment to protect human lives. This interaction underscores the enduring ideological struggle between the two.
