Everyone, including Angelina, believed Norbert was responsible for the assault since Dummy was supposed to be his voice. They kidnapped Robin to impregnate her so the family line could continue. Since Norbert is mute and traumatic events have left him unable to interact normally with women, Angelina orchestrated a plan to force Robin to bear their child, essentially using her as a surrogate for the family's continuation.

Foreshadowing: The desperation to preserve the family line stems from their isolation and co-dependent relationship after years of trauma.

The movie leaves the dummy's true nature ambiguous. While Dummy appears to walk and talk autonomously, the revelation that Angelina was voicing him throughout suggests he may be little more than a puppet. However, some scenes show Dummy acting independently of Angelina, creating uncertainty about whether there is genuine supernatural presence or if Angelina was simply manipulating everyone.

Foreshadowing: Early scenes show Dummy moving and speaking without anyone controlling him, establishing the mystery of his autonomy.

Angelina and Dummy reached Las Vegas but failed to achieve real success. Angelina later died shortly after giving birth to her and Norbert's child. The baby survived, and Dummy was seen holding the infant at the end, alive and continuing into an uncertain future with the malicious doll as its guardian.

Foreshadowing: The bleak tone established throughout suggests the ending would offer no redemptive conclusion.
