Danny Valencia, [Jonas Gruet], a Filipino television journalist, presents a self-made, found-footage style documentary pieced together from videotape discovered at the site of a 2003 unsolved crime. The opening shots show him and a crew at the ruins of a mountain mansion where a family reportedly vanished, setting a quiet, unnerving tone that promises more questions than answers.

On December 25, 2003, [Michelle Espino], [Issa Litton], and her husband [Allan Dale Alojipan] David host a lavish Christmas Day reunion at their hillside manor. Also present are Susan Reyes, [Anne Gauthier], who has come with her American fiancé, Ken Tyler, [DJ Perry], and Susan’s live-in sister, Chelsea Reyes, [Jill Palencia]. The arrangement is festive at first, with laughter and chatter filling the rooms as relatives reconnect, but the mood quickly tilts toward unease as an autistic cousin, Jeffrey “Justin” Espino, [Justin Hoong-Fai Chan], takes control of the camera and begins to document everything with a singular, unsettling focus.

A mild earthquake rattles the house, followed by a sudden blackout that plunges everyone into complete darkness. Batteries die and all conventional power sources fail, yet Justin’s camera keeps rolling with eerie clarity. A dense fog crawls across the estate, muffling sounds and shrinking the world to the glow of the camera’s lens. In the absence of normal light, a television turns on by itself, revealing footage of a bizarre pagan ritual, its choir-like singing strange and hollow. The family scrambles to protect each other, fearing what the unknown forces in the house might want.

As fear grows, several family members die or vanish without a trace. Susan discovers an old book bearing the French title The Way of Baphomet and the motto Ensemble Toujours (Together Always). The fog seems almost alive, and the sense of danger tightens. Soon only Michelle, Steven Espino, [Nic Campos], and Ken remain with Susan. The clock reads 9 am, yet the world outside remains utterly dark. On a wall, Susan finds the words “Ensemble Toujours” scrawled in chalk, a chilling clue to whatever ritual is taking place.

A tense confrontation erupts when Michelle rushes outside after encountering a prowler; she shoots, only to stumble upon David’s grotesquely deformed body. Grief and fear quickly spiral into horror as Michelle shoots herself, leaving the others to confront a rapidly unraveling nightmare.

In the days that follow, Susan, Ken, and Steven gather in the kitchen, where Susan reveals the old book and presses Steven for answers. [Nic Campos] Steven explains that Michelle was deeply involved in black magic and that the book had become her “Bible.” He recounts a long-ago French cult that worshiped the demon Baphomet on this very land and mysteriously disappeared on Christmas Day in 1914. Steven acknowledges an affair with Michelle, admitting she believed she had found a way to ascend magically—together with the rest of the family. Yet the rites described in the book demand horrific acts of sacrifice, mutilation, and torture, and the grim truth becomes undeniable: Michelle’s ambitions were fueled by a deceiving power she misread as divine, a revelation that ultimately drove her to take her own life.

Susan reads aloud from The Way of Baphomet and learns that the climactic rite requires a man and a woman to wed, followed by the bride’s brutal act of castrating her groom. Desperate to end the nightmare, she leads a séance, hoping to summon Michael for release. The seance yields a fleeting response: Michael appears and targets Steven, who vanishes alongside Michael, leaving Susan and Ken to face the horror alone. Ken is later found dead, and Susan clings to a final, fragile hope as she places her engagement ring on Ken’s finger; when she looks up, he has vanished as well.

The television flares to life once more, revealing the white-robed cult gathered outdoors around an altar. In a shocking culmination, Ken and Michelle reappear in a final, perverse tableau: they make love under the eyes of the robed community, and Michelle proceeds to castrate him as a human sacrifice. The camera lingers on a chilling tableau—an entire family robed and arrayed near the altar—before the scene dissolves into a quiet, unsettling final image: Susan and Justin, now robed as part of the family, stand with the others.

Back in the present, Danny remains among the ruins with the original work crew. They discover a box that housed the old French book, The Way of Baphomet, and on top lie the two wedding rings—Susan’s and Ken’s—signifying that the cycle, and the sacrifice, endures beyond a single generation. The final shot lingers on the box and the rings, a nefarious relic of a night that refuses to fade.
