The Star Prince

The opening evokes Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star as a star falls from the sky. A nameless woodcutter finds the newborn Star Prince and brings him home, raising him as his own. The child grows up among ordinary folk, unaware of his celestial origin.

Seven years pass and the Star Prince becomes a spoiled youth who believes he is superior to others. He and his siblings assault a passing old beggar woman, until the woodcutter intervenes to stop them. This marks the beginning of his downfall in the eyes of those around him.

The beggar woman is ushered inside and reveals that she hid the Prince at birth to protect him. The Prince confronts his mother, rejects her, and she leaves in sorrow. A witnessing fairy then places a curse on him, making him physically ugly.

The Prince becomes ridiculed and unrecognized by those who once cared for him. He resolves to journey into the woods to seek forgiveness from his mother. Thus begins a quest that will test his heart as much as his appearance.

Nearby at a castle, a fairy godmother tells a beautiful princess that she will marry a prince who fell from a star. The prophecy foreshadows a destiny that could intersect with the Star Prince's journey. The princess remains unaware of the coming visitor.

While traveling, the Prince frees a trapped squirrel, showing compassion for a creature in need. In reward, a fairy grants him beauty, transforming his appearance again. The moment deepens the sense that his fate might still be tied to his star-born origin.

The Prince also finds a lost dog and brings it home to a grateful Princess. Their chance encounter plants the seeds for a connection, even as he continues his solitary quest. This meeting mirrors the Princess's own foretold role in the prophecy.

A wicked dwarf, with help from the Witch, abducts the Prince and takes him to a cave, claiming to be the Star Prince to wed the Princess. The princess learns of the deception and sends a carrier pigeon begging for rescue. The stage is set for a clash of truth against cunning.

The Prince touches a magic rock in the cave, and the spell seems to release him. He returns toward the castle, all the while being watched by a Witch’s spy. The return signals the beginning of a new confrontation between captivity and freedom.

Back at the castle, the Princess is overjoyed to see him, but the Witch summons imps to capture the Prince. The imps invade the halls as the Prince hides in the Princess's closet, and when discovered, he is fought over by the dwarf and taken away again. The castle becomes a battleground of wits and power.

In the Witch's cave, the Prince is forced to fetch a bag of gold from the forest. The Prince meets the wise squirrel again, who offers to retrieve the gold for him. On the way back, he meets an old beggar and gives him the money, incurring the Witch's punishment.

That night, the Prince makes a daring escape, fleeing through the Enchanted Forest. The next morning, the wedding is about to take place and the Witch senses interference, racing toward the castle. The Star Prince arrives in time to stop the vows and the Witch is killed by castle guards.

The dwarf is transformed into a pig as his plots fall apart. The Prince discovers he cannot marry until he receives his mother’s forgiveness. She arrives with the other beggar to witness and grant him forgiveness, and the Fairy Godmother reveals that the man who received the gold was actually his father. The moment seals the bond of family and fate.

With forgiveness granted and the truth laid bare, the Star Prince and the Princess wed in a ceremony that marks a new beginning. The Fairy Godmother outfits them in splendid attire, and the tale closes with all living happily ever after. The family’s reunion and the revealed lineage affirm the power of forgiveness and love.
