Constanze, a merchant’s daughter, begs her father to request a favor from a lion. The lion agrees but demands that the first person the father meets on his return be taken to the lion’s den. That person is Constanze. Defying her father, she goes to the den and discovers the lion is an enchanted prince who can only be freed by a woman’s love.
