The Brave Little Toaster Goes to Mars

Robbie is born to Rob and Chris, and the appliances initially fear they’ll be eclipsed by the baby’s needs. They all adjust to his presence as the new family dynamic settles in. The household gradually gets used to having a human infant around.

The Hearing Aid left in a drawer slips out while everyone sleeps in the new house. Toaster notices the escape and follows him up to the attic. The Hearing Aid seems to speak to someone in space, making Toaster suspicious.

The next morning, Toaster reveals what happened the night before and the appliances agree to guard the drawer where Hearing Aid hides. They decide to keep watch until Hearing Aid resurfaces. This pact marks their first attempt to protect Robbie from the mysterious device.

At midnight Hearing Aid escapes again, and Robbie wakes to the sound, slipping out of his crib to follow. The appliances rush into action as Robbie climbs the stairs, and Lampy is knocked aside when his plug slips and he falls.

A bright beam fills the room as the appliances confront Hearing Aid. Robbie is carried away in a bubble that shoots him through space toward Mars.

To reunite with Robbie, the appliances enlist Wittgenstein, the old supercomputer, for advice. They assemble a makeshift spacecraft from a laundry basket, a ceiling fan, a Microwave, and organic cheddar cheese popcorn. They embark on space travel toward Mars.

They crash-land on Mars and locate Robbie. There they meet Tinselina, a Christmas angel who was sent to Mars with Viking 1. She guides them through the Martian landscape.

The appliances trail a squad of military Toasters to their leader, Supreme Commander, a massive refrigerator. They learn the plan to blow up Earth, driven by the old owners' neglect, and Toaster tries to dissuade them. They realize Earth is in danger and must act.

Robbie pushes a hand out of his bubble and touches Supreme Commander, causing the refrigerator to momentarily turn pink. The act marks a turning point as the Commander begins to reconsider his stance.

Toaster defeats Supreme Commander in an election and becomes the new Supreme Commander. The other appliances discover Hearing Aid's brother, hidden in the freezer, who hasn't been seen for sixty years.

Supreme Commander explains that the small boy's touch reminded him that not all humans are bad, prompting a rethink about destroying Earth. They decide to return to Earth.

Hearing Aid's brother forgets to deactivate the rocket, triggering a countdown. Toaster leaps off with Hearing Aid's brother and destroys the rocket, narrowly avoiding a one-way trip to Mars.

The group makes it back to Earth just in time as Rob and Chris are awakened by the baby monitor. They begin their journey home.

Tinselina plans to sacrifice herself by going to the trash can; Rob discovers her there and repairs her. She also gives up her clothes so they can have something organic to help their return home. Her sacrifice underscores the bond between the toys and the humans.

The family celebrates Christmas together and Robbie's first word is 'Toaster!' Tinselina is placed atop the Christmas tree for the first time.
