The Blind Side

Seventeen-year-old Michael Oher faces instability throughout his childhood, shifting between multiple foster homes. This tumultuous lifestyle is largely a result of his mother's ongoing battle with drug addiction in Memphis, Tennessee.

After running away from various placements, Michael finds temporary refuge on the couch of a friend's father. Burt Cotton, the coach at Wingate Christian School, recognizes Michael's potential, leading efforts to enroll him in the school.

At his new school, Michael befriends SJ, the son of Leigh Anne Tuohy, who is an assertive interior designer. When Leigh Anne sees Michael outside the school gym in the cold, she invites him to stay with her family for the Thanksgiving holiday.

As time passes, Michael gradually integrates into the Tuohy family, despite the skepticism of Leigh Anne's affluent friends. Her determination to include Michael is tested by their comments and assumptions about his influence on her daughter, Collins.
