Sivaji: The Boss

Sivaji Arumugam returns from the United States to India with the goal of building a non-profit Sivaji Foundation. He intends to run a network of hospitals and educational institutions to serve the poor free of charge. His ambitious plan sets the stage for a clash with powerful interests.

To launch the foundation, Sivaji must grease the wheels of bureaucracy. He pays bribes to multiple government officials to secure the basic sanctions and licenses. The financial strain forces him to mortgage his property and sell belongings.

Sivaji meets Tamizhselvi, a saleswoman at a music shop, and they fall in love. Her family is wary at first, but Sivaji wins their approval. An astrologer warns that their engagement could ruin Sivaji financially and even threaten his life.

A powerful businessman and lobbyist, Adiseshan, schemes to neutralize Sivaji by influencing the state government. He orchestrates a legal attack to force Sivaji to admit he paid bribes. The pressure mounts as Sivaji’s foundation comes under attack.

The court delivers a verdict against Sivaji, forcing the Sivaji Foundation to shut down. Sivaji is reduced to poverty as his dream teeters on collapse. The immediate crisis pushes him to find a new way to fight back.

Sivaji, with his uncle Arivu, uncovers ₹2 billion in illegal earnings tied to Adiseshan. He uses this discovery to blackmail Adiseshan into handing over half the money. The move shifts Sivaji from victim to a strategic challenger.

Sivaji punishes corrupt officials and politicians by threatening to expose their illicit cash. He then transfers the money to friends around the world, who donate it to the Sivaji Foundation, effectively legitimizing the funds. The foundation gains a new lifeline through these donations.

Sivaji informs the Income Tax Department about the illegal money held by tax evaders, including Adiseshan. The authorities act on the information, and Adiseshan is arrested along with others who profited from corruption. Sivaji’s strategy starts to bear legal fruit.

Adiseshan’s agents manipulate Tamizhselvi, and she hands over Sivaji’s laptop to protect him. Sivaji is arrested with solid evidence against him. The personal cost of the battle becomes evident as those close to him are drawn into the conflict.

Adiseshan and the police stage a murder by faking Sivaji’s death. A sympathetic constable alerts Sivaji via MMS, and he activates a plan to survive. He bravely endures simulated death to outsmart his enemies.

Sivaji’s allies swap his body for a dummy and rush him to safety, with Dr. Chezhian reviving him using a defibrillator. He resurfaces undercover as M. G. Ravichandran, an NRI friend who cannot be easily traced. The comeback marks a turning point in the battle.

Sivaji re-enters the scene and openly challenges Adiseshan. He breaks open a terrace full of Adiseshan’s black money, sending cash flying over the campus and triggering a stampede that leaves Adiseshan dead. Sivaji Foundation becomes a symbol of India’s economic ascent.
