Sooraj Singh Chaudhary Prakash Raj is a stern patriarch from a respected Jat family in Haryana. On his elder daughter Renu’s wedding night, she elopes with her boyfriend, Rakesh, and Chaudhary wastes no time mobilizing his men to bring them back. They capture two of Rakesh’s friends and force them to reveal Bablu Tiger Shroff’s name, suspecting he knows the couple’s whereabouts. When Chaudhary’s brothers Bhuppi, Pappi, and Sukhi confront Bablu, he overpowers them but is eventually subdued. Bablu and his friends are held captive and interrogated, but they insist they know nothing. Meanwhile, Bablu confides in his friends about his love for a girl whose earring he found but whose identity remains a mystery. The group tries to escape, yet Bablu is distracted by a glimpse of the very girl they’re seeking and the plan falters, leaving them recaptured.

Dimpy [Kriti Sanon], Chaudhary’s younger daughter and Renu’s sister, discovers Renu’s hidden love letters. Fearing exposure, Dimpy tries to shield her sister’s secret but inadvertently drags Bablu and his friends into the mess. Using the letters, Bablu blackmails Dimpy into helping him locate the girl he loves. Dimpy reluctantly agrees and later learns that she is the very girl Bablu has been searching for when he hands her an earring he found, but she remains silent about it.

On a town trip with Chaudhary’s men to search for Renu and Rakesh, Bablu helps them flee toward Shimla. Their escape is at first thwarted when Pappi overhears Dimpy, and Bablu and his friends are beaten severely. Bablu, though battered, also catches sight of Dimpy, who recognizes him and realizes that he knows where Renu and Rakesh are. Under pressure and with bruises piling up, Bablu falsely claims the couple is in Delhi. The group—including Dimpy—travels to Delhi, where Dimpy is kidnapped but rescued by Bablu, and Chaudhary’s grudging trust begins to form. Dimpy’s feelings for Bablu grow, though she hesitates to confess them.

Chaudhary eventually tracks down Renu and Rakesh on a bus. Defying her father, Renu reveals her pregnancy to Chaudhary, who is shocked and spares their lives but disowns Renu. The family returns home, and Chaudhary arranges Dimpy’s marriage to Rajjo Vikram Singh, a wealthy suitor. Heartbroken, Bablu decides to leave but soon returns, determined to win Dimpy. Chaudhary, fearing another elopement, keeps a tight watch on Bablu. Bablu tells him he understands why Chaudhary felt the pain when Renu ran away and promises he will not elope with Dimpy.

Just as Bablu and his friends are about to depart, Rajjo arrives, beats Bablu, and insults Dimpy. Bablu fights back and defeats Rajjo, but Chaudhary steps in at the last moment. Realizing that Dimpy will only be happy with Bablu, he tells Bablu to take Dimpy away. Bablu and Dimpy share a heartfelt hug, and Chaudhary—along with the broader Jat community—agree to permit inter-caste and love marriages. In a symbolic turn, Chaudhary also forgives and accepts Renu back as his daughter. The film closes on a hopeful, celebratory note, with the family members embracing a future that unites their traditions with the patients of true love.
