Sapthagiri is a Chittoor-based lawyer who travels to Hyderabad to gain experience after losing a case back home, and he finds himself in a relationship with Chitti. He unexpectedly witnesses a high-profile criminal lawyer Rajpal deftly defend Rohit Dewan, a young man from a wealthy family in a sessions court, who faces charges of drunken driving that killed six people sleeping on the footpath in a Toyota Fortuner.
Desperate for money and fame, Sapthagiri decides to chase the case and files a PIL in court against Rohit Dewan. At first, the court reprimands him for mistakes in the PIL and for treating press reports as evidence, with the judge, Naramalli Sivaprasad, warning him to gather solid proof before the next hearing. Sapthagiri then crosses paths with Albert Pinto, who claims to have witnessed the crash but soon reveals he’s a frontman for Rajpal and only in it to squeeze more money from the Dewan family. As part of the deal, Pinto takes a stake in the case and then turns hostile in court. Chitti and the canteen owner Rahim Chacha chide Sapthagiri for letting greed compromise justice. He returns the money to Rajpal and challenges him to win the case on merit.
With his brother-in-law’s support, Sapthagiri secures video footage of the car involved and presents it in court. Rajpal counters that the footage was created by the Dewan family’s driver and claims it’s fake, but Sapthagiri counters by cross-examining the driver, who ultimately admits he gave a false statement. The judge orders the police to provide a bodyguard, Baby, for Sapthagiri after Rajpal’s assistants rough him up. Sub-Inspector Patnaik tries to sabotage the proceedings, while Sapthagiri, aided by the bodyguard, heads to Tamsi after learning that Hanuman Das, a survivor of the accident, is staying there.
Through a series of hurdles, Sapthagiri brings Rao to the court, and Rajpal attempts to derail the process, but the hesitant judge overrules him. Hanuman Das reveals that the SI threatened him after the crash and manipulated the investigation, a truth only revealed after he is paid off with money and jewelry. Rao identifies Rahul Dewan as the driver of the car, strengthening the case. In a tense climax, the court hears closing arguments from both Rajpal and Sapthagiri, and the judge orders a criminal inquiry into the SI while declaring Rohit Dewan guilty of the crime, sentencing him to life imprisonment under sections 302 and 303A of the Indian Penal Code. As Sapthagiri walks out to a chorus of praise, Rajpal sits crestfallen, having lost a case for the first time.
