Black Panther: Wakanda Forever

In the ending of “Black Panther: Wakanda Forever,” Shuri, overwhelmed by grief and driven by her desire for vengeance after her mother Ramonda’s death, takes the heart-shaped herb again, which unexpectedly manifests her in the submerged throne room. There, instead of meeting her ancestors, she encounters Killmonger, a symbolic manifestation of her suppressed anger and unresolved trauma. This presence pushes her toward revenge, clouding her judgment and fueling her rage against Namor and the Talokans.

After breaking free from the ancestral realm, Shuri dons a new, intimidating suit and leads Wakanda into battle against Namor and the Talokans. Despite initial setbacks, she confronts Namor in a fierce fight. In a pivotal moment, she is impaled but manages to escape her defeat, blowing up the fighter and forcing Namor to ultimately yield in a bid for peace. Namor, recognizing her strength and the destruction that continued conflict would bring, agrees to cease hostilities, though his motivations remain nuanced—he claims he is protecting his people and will return if Wakanda is left isolated or vulnerable.

As the dust settles, Wakanda begins to rebuild, with M’Baku hinting he might take the throne, and Shuri stepping back from official rulership, choosing instead to mourn at home in Haiti, where her brother T’Challa’s son is revealed to be living away from Wakanda to avoid the burdens of kingship. The film ends quietly, emphasizing generational change and the enduring legacy of T’Challa, while setting the stage for future stories with new characters taking up his mantle.
