At the end of Deadpool & Wolverine, the heroes successfully stop Cassandra Nova from destroying the multiverse by destroying her weapon, the Time Ripper. Deadpool and Wolverine team up to harness both matter and anti-matter, which is the only way to disable the device. During the final confrontation, Deadpool initially tries to trick the machine into collapsing, but ultimately, Wolverine sacrifices himself to ensure the destruction of the Time Ripper, and both survive the explosion, saving the multiverse. Although the film doesn’t directly confirm Cassandra Nova’s death, she is shown disintegrating as her machine is destroyed, strongly implying her demise.

Meanwhile, Mr. Paradox, who was experimenting with the TVA and seeking control of it, is arrested at the end of the story, leaving his scheme in ruins. The movie hints that Loki, who holds the multiverse together in the larger Marvel timeline, was unable to intervene, since his role is primarily to keep the multiverse stable rather than to prevent its destruction.

Deadpool survives the explosion and returns to his familiar universe, Earth-10005, where he hopes to live peacefully. His relationship with Vanessa is reignited, with the film ending on a hopeful note for their future together. Wolverine, weary and retired after the chaos, seems to settle into a quieter life, but there are hints he may still have future appearances in the multiverse. Interestingly, the ending suggests that Wolverine and X-23 have permanently switched to Deadpool’s universe, living alongside him and the other heroes in the Fox X-Men universe.

The movie leaves many questions open about future Marvel films. Deadpool, still considered an “Anchor Being” of the Fox X-Men timeline, may join the Avengers, possibly in Avengers 5 or Secret Wars. The film teases a humorous moment with Thor that could hint at a future encounter, and it also leaves space for Hugh Jackman’s Wolverine to return, given the character’s survival and the playful meta-jokes about Jackman playing Wolverine until he’s 90. Overall, the ending sets the stage for a multiverse teeming with possibilities, where past characters may return and new alliances could form, shaping the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe.
