A young radio host, Ifrat Afrin Shuvra, Orchita Sporshia, works as an on-air RJ at Modern Radio, a station that every day pulls its weight through her hard work and the support of her family. Her world shifts dramatically when, one night after work, her office boss Newaz Bashar, Rashed Mamun Apu, and his friends brutally rape her. Newaz Bashar is the younger brother of a powerful local figure, the MP Azimul Bashar, Sumon Anowar. The trauma is not just physical; it reverberates through Shuvra’s home, where her family and even her boyfriend urge her to stay silent to avoid social shame and the harsh judgment of their community.

Despite the immense pressure, Shuvra’s will to seek justice grows. She battles not only the pain of the assault but also the social barriers that would keep her from speaking out. After a period of distress and contemplation—during which she fights toward a sense of agency—she decides to file a police report. Her family and boyfriend, moved by her newfound resolve, throw their support behind her decision, even as fear about the power of her attackers lingers in the background.

Enter Nabab Chowdhury, Shakib Khan—a chaotic and capricious lawyer who thrives on showmanship more than rigor in the courtroom. He is someone who does not typically show up prepared in court, yet he makes grand promises to those who hire him. He presents himself as a fighter for Shuvra’s case, claiming he can win, and she, hopeful for a breakthrough, pays him a substantial advance of ৳5 lakh to take on the case. For a time, it seems like a possible path to vindication, but the reality is more precarious than it first appears.

Things rapidly deteriorate when Nabab fails to appear in court the day the case should be declared. Azhar Chowdhury, trying to salvage the proceedings, makes attempts to steer the case away from the truth, while the absence casts doubt on Shuvra and stains her character in the eyes of the public. The court’s momentum stalls, and the weight of public opinion begins to press more heavily on Shuvra. The personal toll is devastating: the relentless ridicule from neighbors and peers triggers a crisis at home, and Shuvra’s mother suffers a heart attack. She dies in transit to the hospital, an event that devastates the entire family and compounds the tragedy Shuvra is already enduring.

In the wake of these events, Shuvra’s younger sister takes a desperate step. She travels to Nabab Chowdhury’s home, seeking him out in person and handing him the responsibility to take up the fight, blaming him for the death of their mother and urging him to stand with her sister. The scene underscores the intense pressure and the high stakes involved when those with power collide with someone fighting for dignity and accountability.
