Twenty-five years earlier, a volatile encounter leaves a permanent scar on the village’s history. Sannasi Thevar’s son, Saravedi Thevar R. K. Suresh, confronts a threatening woman and declares he will behead her. In the market, the brutal act is carried out, his face stained with blood, setting in motion a legacy of violence that will echo through generations.
In the present, Pulikuthi Pandi [Vikram Prabhu] is a ruthless troublemaker with nearly twenty petty cases on record. Yet his brawls are not random: they target people who commit wrongs against others. A pivotal clash centers on Inspector Karungali, who orders Pandi to break a journalist’s hand for writing “wrong things.” Pandi refuses to mutilate a journalist and instead breaks the inspector’s hand, signaling a stubborn code of defense that guides his every move.
At court, Pandi appears with an elder who has been arrested for stabbing a man named Sarattai. There, he meets Pechi [Lakshmi Menon], the daughter of that supporter, and a spark ignites. He falls for her, and Pechi’s father reveals a complicated puzzle: two of Pechi’s potential husband candidates are her family’s gambling, drinking, and theft-facilitating kin, who once signed away money in a drunken moment to Sarattai. When Pechi’s father takes action against Sarattai, Pandi steps in, bailing him out, and even the police back him after a threatened video reveals the truth. As Pechi’s father leaves court, he trembles at the prospect of Sarattai’s revenge, but Pandi reveals that Sarattai has already been stabbed—in the backside—by Pandi himself. To secure Pechi’s hand, Pandi also helps bail out Pechi’s brothers, laying the groundwork for a wedding that promises stability amid chaos.
A flashback, nearly two decades earlier, unfolds a crucial backstory. Karumbalai Pandi [Samuthirakani] is a traveling comrade singer whose life intersects with Pechi’s father. When a loan dispute erupts, two men die accidentally, and Inspector Dhananchezhiyan pressures Pechi’s father to confess that Karumbalai murdered them, driving Karumbalai’s wife to a deathbed of shock. The judge sentences Karumbalai Pandi to hang, a verdict that weighs heavily on Pechi’s family. Pechi herself urges a future where their bond might heal the past, telling his daughter that marriage could be a path to atonement.
Back in the present, Pechi’s wedding to Pulikuthi Pandi is celebrated as a rare moment of peace. Yet Sannasi Thevar and his brood move in next door, casting a looming shadow over the newlyweds. The lifelike tension escalates when Pechi’s nephews’ schooling—and the family’s finances—draw Pandi into acts of generosity, such as helping cover their school fees. But a showdown with Sannasi Thevar soon erupts again: Pechi beats Sannasi in a drunken confrontation at Pechi’s home, and Pandi fends off Sannasi’s goons as the two reconcile by mutual withdrawal of a case.
The victory is hollow. Sannasi Thevar barges into Pechi’s house later, only to face decisive resistance from Pechi and Pandi as they stand against his violence. A fragile peace holds until Sannasi is seized by the law, only to be killed by Saravedi in a brutal act that seals his fate and marks the end of a family’s fragile hope for reconciliation.
Ultimately, the tragedy fuels a dark, inexorable march toward revenge. Pechi, refusing to accept the cycle of revenge, vows to eradicate the Thevar brood. She takes matters into her own hands at a temple festival, stabbing and killing Sannasi, and eliminating his sons. In a final, brutal confrontation, Pechi decapitates Saravedi, bringing a savage ending that haunts the village and closes a long chapter of vengeance and unyielding family loyalties.
