Pulikkuthi Pandi

A rowdy woman threatens to behead Sannasi Thevar, and his son Saravedi Thevar declares he will do it first. He goes to the market and beheads the woman, his face stained with blood. The brutal act sets a dark tone for the Thevar family’s power and fear.

Pulikuthi Pandi is notorious for nearly 20 petty cases and frequent brawls. He clashes with Inspector Karungali: the officer orders him to break a journalist's hand, but Pandi refuses and instead injures the inspector's hand. This sets him on a collision course with authority.

In court, an elder is arrested for stabbing Sarattai. There, Pandi meets Sarattai’s daughter, Pechi, and is immediately drawn to her. The encounter sparks a fragile romance that will drive much of the plot.

Pechi’s father explains that two of Pechi’s brothers gamble and steal, and Sarattai’s loan becomes a public embarrassment before prospective marriages. When Pechi’s father stabs Sarattai, Pandi bails him out, and a police officer bails Pandi after Pandi threatens to release a video showing Sarattai’s wrongdoing.

Pandi reveals that he stabbed Sarattai in the backside to settle old scores, and he also bails Pechi’s brothers out of trouble. The revelation cements his protectiveness over Pechi and her family. The scene underscores Pandi’s willingness to break the rules to safeguard loved ones.

Pandi and Pechi visit her family to seal the engagement. Pechi’s sisters-in-law praise him for helping them pay a loan, revealing his good character. Pechi’s father narrates that he is partly responsible for his own parents’ deaths, adding guilt to the family’s past.

In a flashback, Karumbalai Pandi is a traveling singer. Pechi’s father photographs his family, including a young Pulikuthi Pandi. Karumbalai gives his cows to Pechi’s father to sow a field; two men die after a loan dispute, and Inspector Dhananchezhiyan pressures Pechi’s father to confess Karumbalai’s guilt, leading to Karumbalai’s wife’s death and a death sentence for Pandi’s father.

Pechi’s father explains his role in the family’s misfortunes and urges Pechi to marry Pandi’s father to atone for past sins. Pechi resolves to marry him, driven by a sense of duty and reconciliation.

A new inspector, Ramanathan, meets Pulikuthi Pandi and Pechi at the station and extends forgiveness. Saravedi brutalizes Sarattai, and Pandi fights back against his men, restrained by Pechi’s counsel to avoid more fights.

Pechi and Pulikuthi Pandi marry, and the Sannasi Thevar family moves in next door, bringing ongoing friction. The rival family’s presence heightens the pressure on Pandi’s household.

Pandi helps Pechi’s nephews pay their school fees, easing some family tensions. Sannasi Thevar refuses to leave his house, escalating the feud, and Pandi contends with threats and goons from the rival family.

Tensions peak as Sannasi’s demands persist and legal matters threaten to explode. At a temple festival, Pechi stabs and kills Sannasi and then decimates his sons, with Pechi delivering a brutal beheading of Saravedi. The events culminate in Pandi’s death and Pechi’s vow to avenge him.
