Solomon Mohanlal is a vineyard owner who lives on the outskirts of Mysore and keeps occasional company with his mother, Reetha Kaviyoor Ponnamma. On one of his visits, he meets Sofia Shari, a young woman living in a nearby house with her mother, her stepfather, and two close relatives. What starts as a simple, friendly connection soon deepens into a tender romance, as if the chirping of the birds around the vineyards were composing a soundtrack for their growing bond. Solomon dreams aloud of a life together in the quiet, sunlit world of his vines, where mornings begin with laughter, smiles, and a shared sense of belonging.

In the unfolding neighborhood, Solomon’s life intersects with the bustling household of Paul Pailokkaran, a railway employee, his wife, a nurse, and their two daughters, Sofia and Elizabeth. The two families become next-door neighbors, and the story broadens through the lens of Antony Joseph, a college-going cousin of Solomon, along with another helpful relative who stays in the same house. As Solomon and Sofia’s affection deepens, Sofia reveals a painful past: she was born from her mother’s premarital relationship, and there are troubling shadows in her home life, including occasional predatory behavior from her stepfather. This revelation strengthens the couple’s resolve to stand by one another, imagining a shared future free from fear and secrecy, a future that could be anchored in Solomon’s vineyard and the simple joy of waking to birdsong and open skies.

Yet fear and doubt creep into the plans as Paul Pailokkaran’s influence and temper threaten the young couple. When Solomon shares the news of his love with his mother, she hesitates, worried about the kind of family Sofia comes from. Paul seizes on that fear and tries to pull the rug from their dreams by exposing Sofia’s birth secret to Solomon’s mother, attempting to derail the alliance before it can begin. Tragedy strikes when, on a night Sofia is left alone at home, Paul acts with violence, assaulting and raping her. The family returns to a distraught Sofia, and the truth of the assault is revealed to Solomon and his mother, who are left reeling. Sofia’s mother offers quiet, painful support, while Solomon’s mother resolves that a marriage into such a family would be unwise, and she urges her son to reconsider. In a clash of loyalties and love, Solomon departs on his bicycle, heart heavy but determined to protect what he loves.

Sofia, meanwhile, is supported by her mother, who tries to shield her from the pain while acknowledging the harsh reality of what happened. Sofia processes the blow with quiet courage, tearfully admitting the hurt while recognizing that the person who should have stood by her in place of a father figure betrayed her trust.

The emotional climax comes in the early hours of the morning when a thunderous tanker horn finally breaks the silence. Solomon rides to Sofia’s home, and when Paul answers the door with a sly smile and says, “Now you can take her,” a fierce resolve overtakes him. Solomon confronts Paul with a physical onslaught, then carries Sofia out to the waiting tanker lorry. As the dawn breaks, his mother, Antony Joseph, Sofia’s mother, and Sofia’s half-sister watch from the doorway and window—glimpses of a family’s suspended judgment finally give way to acceptance of Solomon’s unwavering love. In a powerful, wordless culmination, the couple is carried away together, smiling and embracing, stepping into a new life under the open morning sky.
