Heaven Annalise Basso lives in Winnerrow and works as an elementary school teacher. She reconnects with Logan James Rittinger after leaving Farthingale Manor, also known as “Farthy,” following Troy’s death. Logan proposes to Heaven, and she accepts. At the urging of Logan, she invites her biological father, Tony Jason Priestley, to the wedding, and thanks to their correspondence, the Tatterton and Casteel families agree to attend and even plan the reception at Farthingale Manor.
Heaven is thrilled about marrying Logan, but the day nearly unravels when Luke refuses to give Heaven away, and Fanny, the maid of honor, swings her new husband around the dance floor and kisses him in front of the guests to embarrass Heaven. Heaven longs for a father-daughter bond with Luke, who has repeatedly claimed he welcomes Heaven into his family, yet he keeps his distance. Heaven and Logan travel to Farthingale Manor for their honeymoon, but Heaven feels uneasy there and questions whether it’s a mistake. Tony seems to obsess over her dyed-blonde hair, which reminds him of Heaven’s deceased mother, Leigh. Jillian’s mental illness looms large, and Leigh’s alleged seduction of Tony is a rumor that troubles Heaven, who fears Tony’s influence.
Heaven wishes to leave once the honeymoon ends, but Tony persuades Logan to join the Tatterton family business instead of pursuing his original plan to become a pharmacist. Reluctantly, Heaven yields to Logan’s enthusiasm. Over time, Jillian and her household insist a ghost haunts the neglected sections of Farthingale Manor. Logan spends most of his time in Winnerow, where he is establishing the Tatterton toy factory. While he’s away, Heaven’s curiosity leads her to explore the mansion’s forbidden corners.
One night, Heaven encounters that her uncle and former lover, Troy Jason Cermak, who Tony claimed had died, is alive and living in a cottage behind Farthy. Troy reveals that he faked his death to let Heaven live a normal life with Logan, but she has never stopped thinking about him. They share a last passionate moment before Troy decides to leave Farthingale Manor for good. He leaves a note explaining that his departure is for the best and that Heaven should move on and be happy with Logan. Though heartbroken and torn about her infidelity, Heaven resolves not to reveal Troy’s return to Logan. Meanwhile, Fanny tells Heaven that she and Logan have been intimate and that she is pregnant with their child. When Logan returns, he confesses; Heaven forgives him but remains estranged from Fanny.
Soon after, Heaven discovers she is pregnant. She’s unsure who the father is and chooses not to tell Logan there’s a possibility it isn’t his. Logan vows to care for both children but wants nothing to do with Fanny. Luke and his third wife, Stacie Nicole LaPlaca, are killed in a car accident, and Heaven and Logan gain custody of their son, Drake. After Jillian dies, Heaven uncovers a secret contract between Tony and Luke in which Tony gave Luke enough money to save Luke’s circus, on the condition that Luke never see Heaven again. Heaven is devastated that Luke has “sold” her once more. When Luke is intoxicated, Tony attempts to rape Heaven, but she fights him off and escapes.
To spite Heaven and Logan, Fanny fights for custody of Drake and nearly wins when she compels Tony to admit that he is Heaven’s father, which would mean Heaven is not Drake’s blood relative. Heaven pleads with Fanny to drop the custody fight and even offers her a million dollars in exchange for Drake; Fanny agrees, and Drake is returned to Heaven and Logan. In a parallel turn of events, Heaven gives birth to a girl named Annie, while Fanny has a boy named Luke. After Annie’s birth, Troy sends an anonymous gift to let Heaven know he is aware of the child’s existence and that Annie is his daughter. Heaven chooses to raise Annie as Logan’s daughter and keeps Troy’s secret from Logan.
