The prank-happy gang is led by Shruthi and targets Nandakumar with escalating stunts. He remains stern, and the clashes define the tense dynamic that marks their early encounters. The friction hints at the complicated future between them.

Amid the clashes, Shruthi's feelings for the professor grow, and she confesses her love. He treats it as a teenage crush and keeps his distance. Shruthi's persistence plants the seeds for a troubled relationship.

Nandakumar leads a double life in his native village, where he cares for his paralyzed fiancée Uma Maheshwari to fund her treatment. This secret commitment forces him to balance two worlds. The strain foreshadows the tragedy to come.

In the wake of Uma's relapse, a marriage to Shruthi is arranged. Nandakumar agrees reluctantly to secure Shruthi's place and perhaps safeguard Uma, though his heart remains unsettled. Shruthi's guilt grows as she becomes part of a tragic trio.

After the wedding, Shruthi confesses to Nandakumar that she had secretly met Uma and reveals her jealousy. He responds with anger, slapping her and leaving the home to wander. The couple's uneasy bond collapses into a silent, painful estrangement.

In the present, Nandakumar learns that Shruthi committed suicide four years earlier for ruining their lives. He forgives her, acknowledging the tragedy born from a tangled past. Rahman helps him face the pain and seek some closure.
