Vinod, played by Mohan Lal, is a patient in a mental institution run by Dr. Ravindran. With the compassionate care of Dr. Savithri, Ravindran’s daughter, and Dr. Unnikrishnan, he begins to recover, learning that his breakdown followed the accidental death of his fiancée Anitha. As Vinod and Savithri fall in love, their relationship is complicated by Savithri’s existing engagement to her cousin Hari and by Dr. Ravindran’s opposition to a romance between his daughter and a former patient.
