Grizzly II: Revenge (1983)

In the breathtaking expanse of Yellowstone National Park, majestic grizzly bears roam freely, their lives intertwined with the adventurous hikers and campers exploring this natural jewel. Entrusted with the protection of both the land and its inhabitants is a dedicated team of rangers, led by Chief Ranger Nick Hollister. As the park gears up to host a grand rock concert in Grover Meadows, expected to draw a staggering 50,000 festive attendees over three days, the tension rises amidst an impending threat.

Meanwhile, lurking in the shadows is Harvey, a poacher with malicious intent, who causes a tragic chain of events when he kills a bear cub and injures its mother. This horrific act ignites a fury within the grieving grizzly, leading to a deadly confrontation that claims Harvey’s life.

As word of this gruesome incident spreads, Nick and Head Park Ranger Pete report the situation to Eileene Draygon, the Superintendent of Summit. They urge her to reconsider the concert schedule due to increasing safety concerns, but Draygon remains adamant in her decision.

At the ranger station, Samantha Owens, the Director of Bear Management, stands firm against the execution of the grizzly bear, advocating for a humane plan involving tranquilization and relocation, supported by expert grizzly specialist Karl Bouchard from Canada. However, three naive teenagers, Ron, Tina, and Lance, unknowingly enter the park’s restricted area, leading to a horrifying encounter that culminates in a vicious attack by the grizzly.

The following morning, as Nick, Pete, and Samantha stumble upon the gruesome remains of the teens, a palpable sense of dread intensifies as the concert’s date looms closer. Despite Nick’s desperate pleas to track and eliminate the grizzly bear, he is met with resistance from Draygon once again. Refusing to give up, Nick visits Draygon’s office, revealing the brutal killings, only to face further dismissal.

Tensions escalate when Pete confronts a group of poachers within the forest, only to be met with violence, leaving him incapacitated. The grizzly, now on the hunt, discovers Pete and fatally attacks him in a secluded cave.

As the threat of chaos looms larger, Charlie, the meticulous concert manager, hurries to finalize preparations for the eagerly awaited event. Meanwhile, the forest transforms into a treacherous battlefield as poachers set sinister traps, oblivious to the formidable foe that stalks them: the vengeful grizzly bear. The beast unleashes its wrath on the unsuspecting poachers, eliminating them one by one with its powerful claws.

As Nick and Samantha rally with Bouchard to locate the bear, their efforts are overshadowed by the imminent concert. When the gates swing open and the crowd floods in, an electric atmosphere reigns supreme, as fans revel in performances by renowned English rock bands. Yet, lurking behind the scenes is chaos: Bouchard comes face to face with the grizzly in a fateful encounter—he attempts to strike down the beast with a knife, only to meet a swift and brutal end when the grizzly retaliates with a merciless swipe.

With Bouchard out of the picture, Nick springs into action, guiding the agitated grizzly toward the concert stage. Everything builds to a climactic finale as the grizzly bears down on the electrified stage, leading to its own demise amidst a shower of sparks and terrified screams. While the audience cheers, completely oblivious to the horror that transpired, Draygon skillfully spins the events into the fabric of the performance, blurring the lines between reality and an electrifying fiction. The concertgoers revel in their bliss, unaware that their euphoric experience has been fueled by a tragic and brutal reality.
